A coalition of 22 Biafran groups met in Enugu and unanimously decided not to attend the burial of late Biafran Warlord, General Joe Achuzie. Addressing the press on behalf of the coalition, MASSOB leader, Uchenna Madu said it was with heavy heart that the group had decided not attend the burial. He said that while alive, Achuzie had instructed that in the event of his death, Biafran veterans, Biafran agitators and traditionalists should be allowed to accord him their last respect. He however, lamented that Achuzies family had gone back on the instructions of their father. He stated that the burial committee had not included the coalition in its plans. He also said that the coalition was finalising plans on how to commemorate Biafran day on the 30th of May.

gidgiddy:As if anyone will notice their absence...! Even if they had any grievances, they should have pocketed it, out of respect to the departed man, so that he could be given a befitting burial without any controversy. |
