Birth Alert!
My prince arrived planet earth on 7th April via Emergency C section after three days of continuous labour and hunger.
I appreciate the Lord God for making me a mother after 5 years of waiting.
For everyone who helped out in one way or the other, I say a very big thank you.
We still need your prayers as I had a severe breakdown but we will survive.

Congratulations to mamas that have delivered, those waddling, God will make it easy for you.

BS might take a while but I will surely give it..

The Lord that gave you this child will certainly help you raise him to be a great man.

Try to load on fresh fruits rich in Vit C especially watermelon, pineapples and oranges (preferably squeezed and not sucked). It helps to heal faster and works faster than drugs.
Get better soon mama.

BS , So I went for my Thursday antenatal appointment and the crowd was alarming ( thanks to the previous public holiday on Thursday in Lagos). I waited sha till my turn and doctor said since I was 39 weeks 4 days, she will schedule me for induction cos of high bp....previously, my bp has been increasing per week. I had the same issue too with my first. so I was admitted with about 17 patients for the day...9 for cs ,6 for induction, 2 for bed rest....the doctors were already tired by the end of the day and they were on call 8am to 8 am the following day with the hope that they will attend to all of us on Friday.
My catheter for induction couldn't be fixed on Thursday night and no doctor had my time till Friday night....the doctor was harsh to me at first(his nature) and I simply told him to calm down and smile if he is going to attend to me....by Saturday morning, the catheter removed and I was 4 cm....meanwhile, the doctors were not through with the scheduled cs patients (2 to go) so you can imagine the hunger on them.
my water was bursted and contractions started. at about 7cm, naso 2 young midwives entered my labour room .I had this contraction and my hand hit one of them and she hit me back strongly. when the contraction finished, I sent her out and told her I don't want to see her again in that room.
at 10 cm,baby refused to come out after several pushes for over an hour. my pelvic was swollen, the doctors couldn't read my baby's heartbeat and the doctors advised I go for a cs.I was already scared cos I thought I would loss my baby.
the contractions were so much that I couldn't hold back the pushes again. during the section a matron had to push the baby back from my vagiinall and baby came out screaming so much.
naso I suffer hunger strike from Friday afternoon still monday.

I heard drinking hot water does the trick
Also try to rest and not be so anxious, its perfectly normal not to start lactating to the first couple of days. Continue to put her to breasst to suck, she will call the milk out herself.
In the meantime if you feel like your baby is too hungry, try to get a tin of formular for her for the first few days till you begin to express.

You just need to relax and take a lot of fluid. if you can't tolerate hot, take normal temperature. it doesn't have to be hot cos it won't melt the milk out. meanwhile get formula for now.
