Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Ladi Lawanson. says the state government has achieved 95 per cent completion of the ongoing Blue Line rail construction spanning Mile 2 on the mainland to Marina on the island.

Lawanson said this on Tuesday at a media briefing to mark the three years in office of Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode.

He said construction had been focused on National Theatre-Marina segment which had attained 65 per cent completion.

“We have achieved 95 per cent completion of the blue line rail in Lagos State and currently we are focusing on National Theatre-Marina segment.

“Ongoing works include boring of piles, construction of pile caps, pre-inspection of pier positions to determine underground utilities as well as boring of piles across the Lagoon,” Lawanson said.

According to him, all bailey beams have been completed at Marina while fabrication of steel cages and casing, painting of reinforcement with anti-rust, seawall strengthening and the removal of shipwrecks in the lagoon are on course.

The commissioner said the state through Lagos State Metropolitan Area Transportation Agency (LAMATA) had procured a Single Electric Unit (EMU) rolling stick of 2T+2M.

This, he said, was in line with the current thinking of the environment, adding the EMU is already on site awaiting final testing and certification.

Lawanson said the state government had received the Right of Way approval from the Federal Government for the 37-km Agbado-Marina rail routes.

He said discussions were being held with Marina Express Train Services Ltd for its development.

The commissioner said the project development agreement of the company was being reviewed before the commencement of the project.

The Blue Line is a 27 km rail road with thirteen stations from Okokomaiko to Marina

The Red line will be 30km long, and will run between Marina and Agbado.

The red lane is a mirage, will it pass over the existing narrow gauge or the new double standard gauge that is under construction in the same corridor? Even the CCECC handling the FG project are still looking to carve out route for track in places like Oshodi and Ikeja. It is congested.

No, I do not understand how you can blindly defend this gargantuan lie. I use this route twice every week, and I know that the work done on the rail tracks or line, is not more than 50%. Anyone who tells you that the km completed, is higher than the one yet to be finished, is merely playing on your intelligence. You should pay a visit to the site, and inspect the stage of works along the entire route, before buying into their bullshit! Or don't you think so?

I repeat that you have a sick and twisted mind to ascribe such to Ambode in comparison to Fashola. That you fail to see or appreciate his efforts and strides in the state is your problem and not mine. For starters, your comparison of both individuals is grossly misplaced becase Fashola spent two terms while Ambbode is yet to even complete his first.

It is like me saying that Fashola was a failure because he failed to complete neither the Blueline or Redline Light Rail that Tinubu initiated and handed to him throughout his eight year tenure as governor. Or me concluding that Fashola failed because he abandoned the main road that leads to my estate throughout his tenure, a road that my entire neighbourhood is currently grateful to Ambode for fixing for us.

Why didn't Fashola make LASEMA/LRU/Emergency response team as efficient and equipped as Ambode has made it is today to the envy of other states? Does that amount to a failure on Fashola's part? Why didn't Fashola think of the innovative ways that Ambode has been able to drastically improve Lagos traffic? Does that make Fashola a failure? Should Fashola be considered a failure because he didnt think of building the flyovers Ambode built at Abule-Egba, Agege, and Ajah?

Is Fashola a failure for not opening up Epe the way Ambode has?

Ambode initiated LSETF that is giving as much as N5-million naira loan to Lagos-based SMEs to stimulate the state economy, Fashola didn't do such so does that make him a failure?

Go and yarn your crap to the folks that stay in the communities around Lagos-Ogun bondary of Alimosho LG (by far the largestLG in Nigeria) who heaved a huge sigh of relief after Ambode recently commissioned 21 network of roads and two bridges totalling 27.4 kilometres there, an area Fashola was perceived to have neglected due to his alleged 'elitist' administrative posture.

Fashola didn't do a whole lot of things that Ambode is currently doing and vice versa, that is the beauty of continuity because government is a continuum.

Ambode cannot be a Fashola 'mini-me' who will do the exact same thing his predecessor did. Both administrations have different focus and are working in line with a projected developmental blueprint. The guy has not even completed his first tenure and has done very very well so far, your twisted opinion notwithstanding. When he finishes his second tenure you can then come back and count the scores.

See development has to even across all sectors, 90% of all the achievements you stated are still within 'ROADS'. You have failed to list any of his major achievements in health, education and sports as if they are not important.
LRU/LASEMA has been active during Fashola's admin when it was headed by one guy then Osanyintola, go and check, he only consolidate with additional equipments.
