PoliticsNGR gathered that the thugs suspected to be loyalists of a suspended senator, Ovie Omo-agege stormed the Senate and stole the mace in a bid to put a halt to proceedings.

it will be recalled that Omo-agege was suspended for 90 days for accusing his colleagues of working against president Muhammadu Buhari.

This is an indictment on the security agencies. That thugs and miscreants can gain entry into the chamber and made away with the Mace indicates that either the executive arm of government is in tacit support of them or some elements dissatisfied with status quo are trying to instigate choas in other to truncate our democracy.

To imagine that the DSS, Police and other security agencies that have responsibility to guard the National Assembly complex and provide security for the Senators went to sleep while the drama played out is curious and highly condemnable.

Unfortunately, some dimwits from Delta State have allowed themselves to be used as pawns in this macabre drama.

One just have to expect the unexpected when it comes to Nigeria politics.
