It was deeone and not ebuka, the hms (ceebi and I think rico) laughed it off coz to them it was unbelievable. Besides, I don't even think that is the reason tobi chose alex as his pair. The females remaining was ifu, alex and nina. If you have been watching, you would have observed that tobi and ifu never liked each other, they have had little misunderstandings here and there, it was obvious they won't work as partners. Miracle did not "snitch". At least not in the malicious sense of the word. He just needed to be more guided when he "cleared" Nina...that's all.
