How Buhari Misunderstood "FREE TRADE" Question And Went On A Tirade Against His People.

The question was simple. It was about Buhari and Nigeria's stance on FREE TRADE (a situation that does not mean things are free but goods can come into the country and go out without taxes and encumbrances, the type PDP and Lagos state govt established in Lekki)...

Okay, lemme start again.

The question was about FREE TRADE zones, knowing Buhari pulled out of the one African countries are starting and which cost us billions of naira from African Development Bank which is even headed by former Agric Minister Akiwumi Adesina...(Dangote ensured Buhari refused to sign it so he is not challeneged in business by FREE TRADE in importation of sugar, rice, flour etc). But that is a matter for another day.

Lemme start again.

The question was about FREE TRADE. Buhari was to give his view on it.

But all Buhari's very limited and atrophied brain cells could make meaning of was the FREE

So he started talking about Nigerian youths wanting FREE things. hahahahaha. Free trade has nothing to do with FREE things.

But who can tell this to Buhari whose knowledge and educaton is at best DODGY?

Do not let me chronicle the dodginess of his intellect. He still has not called his VP's name correctly, does not know West Germany is no more, does not know what INEC stands for and simply ....

In fact, just know that the question Buhari responded to was on FREE TRADE and he ended up telling the world Nigerian youths like free housing and free...

May we not continue to have the worst intellects leading us in this country.

I Rep afonja with pride and I voted buhari in 2015. I even canvassed votes for him. This time, he's shot himself in the leg by calling us Nigerian youths lazy. Jonathan did the same in 2014 when he killed scores of Nigerian youths through aba Moro, his interior minister in the NIC recruitment exercise. He knew Moro collected money through David mark's wife who got the registration contract but claimed he's not aware. The registration which wa supposed to be free. People told him to declare his asset which he promised to do before election but later when he became president he said''i don't give a damn''. Nigerians asked that he sack diezani but refused, thinking he was the one who put himself there. Madam patience was collecting commission from NNPC contractors before they got paid but her husband remained insensitive to it. Pabambari, chibok girls were abducted and he said it's a lie. All these put together made me lose interest in him and voted buhari, thinking he'd write the wrongs. I voted Jonathan in 2011 thinking he'd clear the rot and set the pace being the first graduate to govern us alas! Now, buhari has committed the worst sin ever by calling the future of Nigeria lazy. Many gullible Nigerians unfortunately claimed he didn't say so. You don't have to call a thief a name in clear terms. No wonder the western world still say we're illiterate because we can't interpret a statement as simple as what buhari said about us. Tell me, who's lazy out of naija youths and his son who graduated but refused to work, waiting for free cut from tax payers money and using same to buy a power bike that almost killed him? There's an adage which says, an idle hand is the devil workshop so, the proverb matched his lazy son. Come next year, I either vote if there's a viable opposition candidate or I don't vote at all. Buhari isn't worth my vote again
Stop justifying your foolishness by calling Gej.

Where is 'Biafra'? Who is from Biafra?

Why can't you argue the point without resorting to presumptive statements about people you don't know?

And nobody wants to 'rule', Nigeria is not a monarchy. What is needed is a proper federation where useless cretins such as Buhari, Abacha et al. cannot handicap the entire nation with their simple mindedness.

He was asked a different question, yet he lashed out at the youths as will are the cause of his dullardness. May God publish any youth that will campaign for this terrorist for 2019 election.
What the president said is very correct.

You can get upset and swear all you want.

The youths have to do more for themselves.

On the allegation that President Buhari accused Nigerian Youths of being lazy, a liberal minded Nigerian Youth wrote this:…......................................................................................... "I have just watched and listened to what PMB said from YouTube

https://m.youtube.com/watch?sns=fb&v=OQOAa-G1vV8

I did not hear the word *Lazy*.
He says with 60% of population too many are not educated and that is the root of false sense of entitlement that is my understanding. He was addressing critical problems against investment, he addressed security first and talked about how Boko Haram had destroyed the NE. Why are people not saying he demarketed the NE?.

If you watched this video and heard the word "lazy" go and get hearing aids. If you disagree with the president and the answer he gave to the question put to him (remember he is talking about impediments to investments he met) then i believe you are INSINCERE. if you have hosted a debate on this on your platform without actually listening to the speech and have run your mouth typically like a "know all" you are a big part of Nigeria's problem. If you think the President should not speak at the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting so he doesn't speak "more abroad" than at home, you are a clown.

Here is the statement, tell me where he insulted the youth."............................................. I urge all those who truly want this country to progress to carefully listen to the audio clip. Nobody is talking about what Buhari said in the same video about the plan by Shell to bring massive investment. All you hear is the twisted version that youths were being demarketed. The chicken is coming home to roost!

Stop analysing nonsense... See what is going on in social media where proper analysis has been going on

‬: "We must get real. We have challenges with our youth. As a parent and observer I know that the attributes handed over to my generation of ambition, hard work and "go for it based on capability" are lacking in a lot of youth. Most who are educated believe jobs, cars and accomodation etc should be a sina qua none. Where is the pleasure of achievement? Don't let's because we dislike Buhari overlook the drug menace amongst our youth. The risk of this generation not being better than predecessor generation which is the trajectory of contemporary history is quite high.
We cannot and must not allow our political differences to look at the messenger and not the message. Lest we forget amongst these youth are the ones who did tertiary education in tranches and not straight at once (albeit through no fault of theirs), would this not have an impact?
Now I know the quaint Yoruba proverb that "truth is bitter" to be true.
Ultimately listening to the video clip question and answer the question did Buhari lie can be answered faithfully; no, he did not. But, those who have agenda within agenda (and they have rights to this) spun the whole thing to suit them. And made Buhari appear out of touch and senile.
If we have a million successful youth and 10m that are not, that's risk that must be mitigated one way or another. The sooner the better. And the first step is to admit.
................................................
Point by point analysis of what the President said: using simple True or False mathematical mapping

1. Nigeria has a population of over 180million .......True

2a. Over 60% of which is under 30.......True

2b. 60% of 180 million is 108million.........True

2c. therefore, a lot of Nigerians are under 30...........True

3. A lot of this under 30 have not been to school..............True *as late as 2017, UNESCO put the figure of Nigerian youths out of school as 63million, 63 out of 108 is a lot.

So we can affirm that point 3 is true.

*So, up till here, if you are above 30, the President was not referring to you.........True

*If you are under 30 but you have been to school, the president has not referred to you.............True

4. He continues, ''A lot of the people in 3 above sit down and do nothing, expecting free housing, .......

Here we can contextualise that he meant the drug traffickers and drug addicts, area boys, armed robbers, yahooyahoo boys, kidnappers, pipeline vandals and bonkereres, mace thieves and political thugs, killer herdsmen, boko haram arsonists, almajiris, etc.............True

For goodness sake, if you are none of the categories in 4 above, do you have any reason to fray up.........True or False?

It is better you tell us where you belong so that we can appease to your children."
In your haste to copy and paste arguments from Mr President's proponents you have carefully highlighted some of the salient points reasonable youths like myself have been echoing.

Strangely, you have pointed me to other people's positions on social media without necessarily bearing your own mind. I am aware there are always those who support and others who oppose any issue of national discourse but considering the uproar that greeted this new gaffe by Mr President, I am surprise that you have chosen to support an unpopular opinion.

Now back to the crux of the matter- after carefully looking through the data you have quoted above i have a few questions to ask you.

Are the youths responsible for 60% of the population being out of school?
Are the youths accountable for all the money so far realised from oil revenue dating back to when oil was discovered in Nigeria?
Are the youths responsible for the failure in our health and educational institutions?
Where the youths responsible for the baseless coups and counter coups which ultimately lead to Biafra war?
Are the youths responsible for the weak judiciary, security agencies and a constitution which has divided us more than it has united us?
Are the youths responsible for the breakdown of all our refineries, death of the textile and steel sectors hence the high rate of unemployment?

Bros, do not be like the proverbial Esau, who sold his birthright because of a pot of porridge. The youths today have only one blame and that is majority of us are too respectfully and religious. Many were raised to never question an elder and also to respect authority without questioning. If not the nation will be burning by now. It has happened in China. It happened in Tunisia, Egypt and it can happen in Nigeria.

With the current state of the nation we are suppose to gather all those old men and women who have held public offices and squander our collective wealth and dump them in a furnace to burn to death.

Let me give you a typical example so that you will know how lame your arguments are:
Imagine a wealthy father who has refused to spend money on his kids education, health and welfare. This man delights in marrying new wives and keeping concubines but spend little or nothing in nurturing his kids.

If those kids turns to prostitution, cultism, fraud and other vices in other to fulfil their 'dream', who is to blame?

Imagine that same father telling you that many of his kids are lazy and don't want to work. I am sure with the knowledge that this man had denied his kids the basic education needed to make them better people in the society you will have something unsavoury to say to him.

I attended a federal university in Nigeria and also did my masters in the UK, i can tell you for free that in comparism our universities lecture theaters and hostels are not even fit for animals. The hostels these idiots who had life easy had bequeathed to the younger generation is better likened to a concentration camp.

Those terrorist currently held at Guantanamo bay are enjoying a better living condition than our university students, yet you have the audacity to blame the Nigerian youth.

Go to Olobiri and other oil producing areas in Niger Delta and see the despicable conditions these people are living, yet the proceeds from the crude gotten from their backyard is used to develop and feed the same ingrate and his region.

Do you know there is a Scandinavian country that pays youth to get married and bear kids? Yet we have never heard their leaders disturb us with name calling. The UK, US and saner nations have laudable social intervention programs for their vulnerable population. Do you read about them throwing shades at their citizens?

It is obvious Mr President was refering to the youths from the Southern region. He probably want us to fold our hands and allow the northern oligarchy to continue raping our God given wealth. This explains why they are scared of restructuring and will do everything in their power to retain hold on governance.

When armed robbers terrorize a neighbourhood continuously, they don't blame themselves but they blame the police for not doing their jobs. Today the average Nigerian is saddled with the responsibility of government. We provide our own water, light, security and even roads yet we pay tax and nobody has an idea how these money are spent.

The problem with Nigeria is not the youth, if we had institutions that are working then crime and other vices would have been checked. When corruption and looting is reduced, money meant for education and other sectors will be used judisciously hence our society will be better.

Nigeria is simply on auto pilot. When we have a leader who is ready to do a 'Rawlings' then we are one step closer to realizing our full potentials. The youths today are simply doing what the elders have thought them. It is a case of garbage in....garbage out.

Fvck all you educated academicians and professors who voted for such a man to rule over you all..
Point of correction, buhari wasn't voted into office by any educated academician or professor to speak and understand spoken English, rather he was voted into office by 15 million Nigerians to fight the endemic corruption which pdp had stamped on the Nigerian map. Unfortunately, he isn't only a shock re reading/understanding of the English language but a monumental failure in the fight against corruption! He is even corruption personified. NIGERIAN YOUTH ARE LAZY# point to observed from reseachers.in a wider perspective some of Nigerian youth are very lazy. Negative societal perceptions is the major factor that contributes greatly for the laziness of youth which hinder youth to realized their full potential but go after white collar job, bad group(politics), fraudstars instead of self reliance. while there is a mess in the country over decade. the development of any Nations requires the collective effort of it citizen, Nigeria as a developing country with a population of one hundred and forty million people is battling with economic, social, political, extreme poverty, youth unemployment problem, most recently security, and educational challenges. The challenges led to the introduction of different educational reforms at several levels of the national operation. The reforms were designed to bring about developments in areas of needs through infusion of modern methods, and values. Specifically, education constitutes of a major focus because it is believed that education is an instrument for national development, and thus, it could be employed to achieve political, economic, and social developments. for instance youth in rural settings of some geopolitical zone of Nigerians are illiterate especially north east, central, west and south East, south and west. Hence some Nigerian youth are very lazy##

PMB said-
"It is not in our culture for a man to marry a man, and a woman to marry a ```woman`, the only challenges we have in Nigeria are insecurity and corruption. We will leave better without same sex marriage''.

This did not trend in the media; no hashtag.

But when he said-

“About the economy, we have a very young population, our population is estimated conservatively to be 180 million. This is a very conservative one.

“More than 60 percent of that population is below 30, a lot of them haven’t been to school and they are claiming that Nigeria is an oil producing country, therefore, they should sit and do nothing, and get housing, health care, education for free.”

The Nigerian media imported laziness into the speech and made it go viral. And the youths took the misinformation hook, line and sinker. Even creating a meaningless hash tag around laziness.

What a shame!
