The journalist who wrote the article may have the wrong numbers, we have to wait for an official statement from the EFCC to have more informations about the real cost before rushing to a conclusion |

Most of the Lazy Nigerian youths commenting here have not research when the project was initiated, if it was inflated could it be by their hero since the project predates current government, they are just posting pay per post. 1 Like |

nagoma: Please, i disagree with you. I am a Quantity Surveyor and I can attest to it that no structural or Electrical standard employed can make the base cost of this building exceed 12billion naira. Even if the contractor is Julius Berger. Its all inflated. 7 Likes |

kimjongJezebel: That tall building you are seeing is just one of about 5 buildings on the site. I am talking from an informed position. On the site, there is an ultra modern forensic lab building, A contemporary Male cell building, female cell building, clinic, multi level car park etc. If you are a QS or a professional in the built environment, you would also understand that the building is just one aspect of a functional project. HVAC systems, site inftastructure, security equipment, preliminary expenses during project, contingency expenses etc also form part of the overall project cost. Lastly, with a contractor like JBN PLC, a project that someother contractor would execute with 10naira, JBN could execute same with 15naira. The difference comes in the quality of constructure, HSE during works, quality of materials, fittings and fixtures etc. Here is a project whose design started in 2010 being handed over in 2018. Do you know the obligations of Clients to Contractor in case of the inability of the formal to meet up with some agreements; majorly finances leading to stoppage of works? All these also leads to an increased project cost. How about insurances to people and the project itself? It's also a cost component in project execusion. This is an interesting project from Design, through construction to handing over. You even have a shooting range in that building!!!! Don't castigate what you have little or no knowlege about. Disclaimer While i am aware that the project runs into Billions of Naira. The exact amount is unclair to me at this time. I am not also saying that there are no possibilities of inflating the project. Lastly, Nigerians are the worst enemy of Nigeria. We are people with an unfair attitude to Nationhood. We don't care for each other. The politicians are no good just like the rest of us. The followers are docile and would rather take peanuts than demand for their rights. THE CONDITION OF A PEOPLE WOULD NOT CHANGE UNTIL THEY CHANGE WHAT IS IN THEMSELVES.. May God bless the land of my birth. 8 Likes 3 Shares |

Dayg88: I am.sure you have no idea of the preliminary works that was done before the site was habited. While i am.not justifying the high cost, you should also be aware that project conditions varies. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Dayg88:I’m Working with a construction company on a NEWMAP project in Abia state..this 24billion is more than the entire fund mapped out by the world bank itself to tackle erosion challenges in the entire state! Heck it’s even more than two states allocation combined! This is just ridiculous no MATTER how you want to rationalize this! 4 Likes |

nagoma: Bro, Julius Berger is controlled by Nigerians especially the politicians, I am very authoritative on this, the Nigerians dictate the final cost after the initial cost by the company. Nevertheless, the project is highly inflated regardless of its hardwares. I'm sure that project didn't run 50m into the ground. Support #Sowore2019 3 Likes |

Dramadiddy: Can you see that EFCC logo up there? What if i tell you that it is about 3 meters in height. I mean taller than a coaster bus, taller than your doors, taller than the interior of your rooms and most offices? It's magnificent project by all standard. Our fear should be the institution that would use it and the maintenance stretegy put in place to ensure that 100 years from today, the nation would still be benefiting from this investment. 3 Likes 1 Share |

AkpaMgbor: Don't compare them please. No basis for comparison. Scotland yard in the UK and EFCC in NIGERIA. Mbanu!!!!..... even the people leaving in this entities are miles apart in their reasoning and relationship to one another. A large amount of the component used in that project was imported into the country. You should know that the dollar exchange rates would play a part. 2 Likes 1 Share |

dvee2:You've spoken well sir, there is this certain project I was on in 2009 the total contract sum stood at 5.4bil then and project duration was 4 years as I am typing this that project have not been completed and FG have spent more than 10 bil on this same project. Many factors came into play that led to cost overrun. Some people don't know what construction is and will be saying things they have no idea on just for likes on NL. SMH 3 Likes |
