Dear Friends at Kano,

As you may know, Galilee Institute signed an agreement with the Government of Kano for training of 100 experts and officers in water management and irrigation. I went to Kano during December, 2015 to co-sign the agreement with Gov. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

The agreement was based on sharing the Israeli know-how of water management (including reuse of water for agriculture - 85% of recycled Israeli water is utilised for irrigation) and the objective was to turn Kano into a 'garden', using the advanced agricultural know-how in Israel. We both saw the potential for Kano becoming the 'Garden of Nigeria'.

The management of Galilee Institute agreed to grant scholarships to 100 trainees per year, and therefore, the Kano government would only be responsible for the airfare and local living expenses while in Israel for 2 weeks of intensive training. Additionally, the Institute's Board approved sending Israeli experts every 3 months to ensure successful implementation.

We are ready to resume this programme and to commence training in May 2018, for 4 groups each comprising 25 participants.

We signed many similar agreements, including with the Government of China (for 5 years), with Governments of Kenya and Uganda, Organization of American State (34 states) and there are additional agreements being signed with Mozambique, Gambia and many others.

We look forward to commence this programme and to turn Kano to a leading State in Nigeria,
