A religious group, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) said President Muhammadu Buhari’s characterization of Nigerian youths at an event in London last week is ‘apt, precise and succinct.’

The group, in a statement released by Professor Ishaq Akintola, its Director on Monday also accused the media of deliberately twisting Buhari’s statement as it argued that the president did not use the word ‘lazy’ in his speech.

The group said, “Nigerians need to contextualize the president’s comment. We have seen many youths functioning as political thugs as the 2019 general elections approach.

They have started vandalizing properties and disrupting political gatherings.

If the youths are lazy , it means their parents have failed in their responsubilities as parents to bring up their children in the right ways.
It directly and indirectly means the Muslims have failed to bring up their children up in the right ways as well.

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

If the head is spoilt or bad , the whole body will become rotten.
The government is the problems of Nigeria. The government is the head of the nation. When most of the government officials are corrupt and have squandered away the resources that should be used to create an enabling environment for job creations , what do you think will happen to the youth of such a country ?

The elders in their times had so much opportunities like scholarships , job opportunities , free educations etc but they failed to provide such opportunities for the youth .

In the 70s , a fresh graduate is given a brand new car after six months of employment in the government parastatals. But now , what do we have ? No vacancy talkless of giving a brand new car after six months .


In summary , the Muslims and the Christians should stop this sycophancy and call a spade a spade . Everyone should come together and blame the elders for the ways they ruled this country since they came into power in the 60s.
There is no nation that can prosper when the rulers are competing in embezzlement and fraud.
When the goals of the rulers are how to better their pockets and train their children in another developed nation , how do we expect them to contribute positively to the development of the such nation?
Such leaders should be blamed and their properties confiscated with severe penalties to discourage others coming after them,
