Please experience bloggers I need your input on this, my AdSense CPC is $0.01, is this normal? However the site is about one month old and averages about 1.5k views per month according to Google analytics. Is the low CPC as a result of the site been relatively new and can it increase with time. An not just happy with the terribly low CPC. I just need input on this from experience bloggers who have been dealing with AdSense for years.

What is your niche? Your niche is a huge contributing factor when it come to CPC rating, take for example, if you are blogging on Nigerian news, Nigerian music industry etc, most of your visitors will be from Nigeria, so trust me your CPC will be very poor, no matter the age of the blog...

An open secret -
One of the reasons for a $0.01 and other low CPC revolves around the country were your visitors are coming from, the niche you are blogging on, your content quality (no copy and paste or rewriting other people's post) etc etc...

When you blog on the following niche your will get a CPC as high as $2,

1. Blogs on Law
2. Blogs on insurance, you can have a micro niche on this. Insurance is wide
3. Blogs on banking, finance, credit card
4. Tech blog
5. Blogs on health..... Etc etc!!

the lowest CPC on my blog is $0.13, most times they are clicks from Africa, I've had a CPC of 0.87, I have a site on finance and will soon be starting a new insurance blog, that's my highest, a friend once had a CPC of almost $5, that was from about 8 clicks before it went down...

In conclusion, having or blogging on high paying niche does not mean authomatic high CPC, your visitors must come from USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany etc... Even South Africa has a high CPC, my point is that your post must target audience from these countries, don't post news on BBnaija and expect someone from Germany or USA to have interest you..... My final advice is for you to visit Google and carryout an extensive research on this issue, read up and make the necessary changes, startup a new blog if need be and stop posting your link on niraland for backlink, that act may condemn the site to a Nigerian site...

This is exactly why entered this thread, to confirm it is not just peculiar to me. Mine is even yet to show that it has been paid. Hopefully between today and tomorrow, it should be sorted out.

Which country adsense? Some countries like UK doesn't pay on weekends.

If the payout falls on weekends... It will be rescheduled for the next working days

I've always wondered whether pasting one's blog link on Nairaland for traffic and backlinks does more harm than good for Adsense CPC. But I do think it somehow helps in drawing organic search engine traffic...

By the way, how long does it take, in your experience, for a newly registered website to start drawing organic traffic with seo only? I have a site that is about a week old now (focusing on the broad health niche), with about 10 high quality seo optimised, keyword rich posts targeted at the US... But so far, I have only about 2 organic visitors from Google search. How much longer do I have to wait and how many posts would do the magic?

I have another older blog with predominantly Nigerian visitors where my adsense is linked. I intend to later link this same adsense to my new US targeted blog. Is this a good idea (as in, will it affect the CPC for the new blog) or is it better to apply for a brand new adsense for the new blog?

Sorry about the plenty questions. Lol.

Posting your links on nairaland is not bad, as a matter of fact, Google will notice your blog quicker because Google crawls nairaland regularly because the site is a busy site, however, excessive posting of your link on niraland can be harmful, Google might see your multiple links as spam, so if you must put your link, you'll have to do that cautiously, also traffic from nairaland is not as strong as traffic from Google, always aim for Google traffic..

For a new blog to start gaining organic traffic, it depends mainly on your ability to work tirlessly and your willingness to study the niche you're in, consider factors like the competition in the niche, hunt for your competitors keywords, know your competitors and search for those keywords that is making them rank higher than you (Use tools like SEMRUSH tool, you can use the free version for 14days worth $199, write better articles with more words (1k+) strategically place your keywords, do your on-site and off-site SEOs properly, build backlinks by gradually dropping your comments/links to sites on your niche, mainly sites from US, UK, Canada etc, don't spam these sites, some won't accept your links, look for international forums like nairaland, drop your links there too, gradually oooooooh... As per how many posts it will take for traffic to start coming, can't really tell, all I know is that you need to make posts on trending topics or keywords on your niche, it's not a matter of how many posts, it's a matter of posting relevant topics, post on what people are search for, with SEO tools like SEMRUSH, you can track your competitors most profiting keywords, you can also track keywords with the highest CPC, you'll get to know that there are keywords with as much as $5 to $8...

Don't apply for new AdSense, it's a capital offence, trust me, if they find out... You will lose both, just link you AdSense to your new site, CPC is determined by the following factors, niche, location where your traffic is coming from and then keywords, for instance, in your naija blog if a keyword like Big brother Nigeria is $0.08 you will get 0.08 for clicks on that keyword, while on your health blog, a keyword like maleria drug may have a CPC of 0.26, a click as a result of search on that keyword gives you $0.26....

Blogging na real hard work oooh, just do your due diligence, don't rush it, give yourself one year, post like 2 or 3 times daily and watch out for results, I always advice people to build blogs that will last a lifetime, health blog if properly built may even outlive you because it doesn't have season, people will always need medical advice, when you do your due diligence very well....

Thanks for the well detailed explanation. I'm currently running an entertainment blog with extremely low cpc. I opened a blog on insurance but I've got a big problem. How do I attract visitors from those first tier countries?
Thanks

Trending topics in Nigeria today is Dino Maleye or BBnaija, if you make posts on these keywords you will probably receive traffic, so also make posts on topics that interests visitors from those countries, insurance is a big business in US, UK and any of those first world countries, competition for space is stiff too, so look for insurance sites that target these countries and hunt for their keywords, keywords that get them traffic... Deny yourself sleep sometimes and research, read SEO articles and improve on your SEO skill, keep learning and keep improving... It will make you better.
