wickyyolo:Stop saying trash please, even if they voted a bastard is that the reason why they should all die?? These are innocent human lives for crying out loud!! Let's all lend out voice in calling for the impeachment and arrest of Buhari for war crimes. In whatever capacity you can, be it Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, nairaland, print media etc, let your voice be heard now. These people are facing extinction and if you think you are safe then better have a rethink, this is a state sponsored jihad against Christians in Nigeria. Once they are done destroying Benue, they will move South. |

Attentions completely shifted from Sambisa forest to Benue state herds men. Sincerely speaking, there is no government in Benue state. |

Where has Benue a state gone wrong to deserve this inhumanity from fellow citizens and injustice from the government? Yorubas Igbos and Hausas must come together and fight for the peace of its nation. One for all, all for one. We need each other to get our peace, freedom from evil |

ajebuter:And so what?... Do yourself some good and wake up from this your endless 2015 Jonathanian delusion. Between 2010 and 2015, thousands were also killed by the very same herdsmen in the middle belt but it was never reported at the time because a bigger overshadowing menace (BH) then was killing tens of thousands. The govt at that time was incompetent in it's security (and other) responsibilities and so it was booted out. Oh yes, I have absolutely no regret for booting out the old scumbags. Fastforward to 2015, new set of guys guys take over and have once again proven to be another set of incompetent scumbags, they will also be booted out but that is only assured if people like yourself wake up and stop dwelling in this your endless Jonathanian wailing. |

enlady:Vigilantes may not be allowed to wield automatic assault rifles like AK47s, but there's no law stopping the state government (with the backing of the state HOA) from setting up and arming state vigilantes with guns line pump action rifles. If they are arrested and the governor pays a visit to the station, not even the IG can prevent the governor from releasing his boys legally. Let's forget all these excuses and ostrish play by the governor, even though we practice a strange federal system, the fact is that we still have a federal system and the governor wields enormous powers. |

You are just trying hard to exonerate Buhari. No governor or state house of assembly can promulgate a law empowering a vigilante to carry arms. The courts will throw it out. The constitution is very clear. Section 214 (1) of the Constitution says: "There shall be a police force for Nigeria, which shall be known as the Nigeria Police Force, and subject to the provisions of this section no other police force shall be established for the Federation or any part thereof. The livestock guards earlier equipped by Gov Ortom was also backed by sections of the anti open grazing bill of enacted by the Benue HOA. But the military arrested and disarmed them in January 2018 when these attacks heightened. Any bill passed by a state HOA contravening the constitution stands illegal. Until we amend the constitution to allow state police, the buck stops at Buhari's table. In this Benue instance, PMB has been irresponsible and a complete failure! obailala: |

wickyyolo:Are you waiting for them to bring the war to your home before you react? Believe me these guys have covert support of Abuja with free arms and logistics support from islamists in the Sahel and Arab world. Their ultimate aim is to islamize Nigeria. Nigeria brought the civil war to Biafran soil and our economy was completely destroyed. Is that what you want for the South? |
| Re: Gunmen Invade Idps Camp In Benue, Kill 7 by wickyyolo: 2:12pm On Apr 27, 2018 |

tonye33:Okay, I just hope so too. Because you don't need a soothsayer to know that South is in the agenda of the terrorist occupying aso Rock, he is only waiting to return in 2019 whether by hook or crook and boom you will see the front shifted from the middle belt down south. They have already tested the waters with Enugu and Ebonyi but when it was visited with massive outcry, they shifted westwards. I don't know where those arms that were seized at the Apapa port were headed to but I want to believe that our people are doing the needful just in case. |

| Re: Gunmen Invade Idps Camp In Benue, Kill 7 by enlady(f): 4:14pm On Apr 27, 2018 |
Yes they are illegal. The concept of armed vigilante is alien to our constitution. Any vigilante that bears arm is illegal. I have given you instance that the Benue livestock guards were disarmed by the army. The Benue issue is already heavily publicised. The herdsmen are bent on open grazing in the Benue Valley. Any attempt by Benue state govt to arm a vigilante will be resisted by the armed forces. obailala: |

enlady:So in essence, there no such thing as owning a 'licensed' firearm in Nigeria?... Every individual who isnt a member of an armed force must dispose their firearms?.... Last time I checked, it was illegal to own an unlicensed firearm in Nigeria but if yours is licensed, then you are fine. The recent story I heard was of the IG ordering a nationwide mop up of illegal/unlicensed firearms. Except you are saying the constitution has been changed recently, else, your claim is incorrect. Go back and check your sources again. |

Why are you trying to change the goal post? What sources? Everything I wrote is in public domain (1) You said the Benue state should arm a vigilante group to defend the people. I told you one has been set up by the Benue gov but the army and police has arrested it members. The police has also commenced mop up of firearms used by Rivers state vigilante (neighborhood watch) set up by Wike. https://www.blueprint.ng/army-arrests-9-militia-men-linked-to-benue-govt/ http://www.tribuneonlineng.com/benue-killings-arrest-militia-members-pre-planned-military-aliyu-tershaku-coordinator-livestock-guards/ https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/03/police-order-nationwide-mop-illegal-arms-1/ (2) Go and read the firearms act (1990). There is no provision for individual license to bear guns such as AK47. The president can issue a proclamation at any time to mop up both licensed and unlicensed firearms. Go and study the law You have seen the level of carnage in Benue, how do you expect a vigilante armed with light weapons to repel the herdsmen attacks? A deadly militant group has killed over 100 persons in less than a week and you are advocating for a vigilante to confront them? Your support for PMB should not rob you of objective reasoning. A true patriot is one that owes loyalty to his country not to an individual, ideology or political party. I would no longer respond to you. obailala: |

Saintp:I believe the herdsmen issue is a greater reason to impeach the president. But since it is hard to prove that he breached any constitutional dictates there (apart from being crassly incompetent) I think the NASS have chosen to use a constitutional breach that can be clearly identified as committed, as reason for pursuing his impeachment |
