The problems is just poverty. Parents should have the resources to adequately raise (not train) their kids to have a focus and a sense of pride. I know there will be some rich kids that indulge but most of these drug abusers are kids from poor homes.
Very wrong. Girls from rich homes in Abuja are the highest consumers of codeine.

Emzor Pharmaceuticals is currently in hot water after one of its Sales Reps was caught selling bottles of Codeine illegally to undercover reporters.

The reporters who posed as drug dealers received the shock of their lives when the rep sold 60 bottles of the drug to them adding that anything he sold to them was fresh from the 'oven'.

The bust was part of a documentary carried out by BBC reporters on the codeine epidemic in Nigeria. The documentary revealed that in two Nigerian states alone, over 3 million bottles were consumed every day.

Exactly! You don't expect poor people to afford codeine of more than 1k and even up to 3k for some brands.

Tramadol, on the other hand, is for both the rich and poor. Unfortunately, its price will soon levitate to that of codeine due to abuse.

This is bad journalism aimed at attacking emzor

Bbc is implying that emzor is part of this drug abuse,, investigation has not even be carried out to determine if the guy acted on his own..and probably working with some accomplices in the to produce this illegally..
Mentioning the company's name will hamper any investigation that will be carried out now,, as if that is not enough, this is bad for emzor's reputation

This news shouldnt have named the company, just like banks are protected in similar issues , the coy should not hve been named till investigtion is complete..
If I were the owner of Emzor, I would sue BBC or the reporter for tarnishing company image. The sales rep could be working on his own. The syrups may even be fake. So many persons don't know that half the number of codeine syrups and even tramadol consumed in Nigeria are made in Onitsha or Aba. The man may be a syndicate in that network. The reporter was lazy. She should have investigated the source of the codeine well.

Even if its from Emzor, the chances are that the company is not aware of the illegal sales. Every company wants to make money so definitely, they would be happy if sales are made but they may not know exactly to whom they are made.

In essence, Emzor is not complicit in this and it is certainly not the biggest producer of codeine that ends up on the black market.

News like this can make the share prices of emzor crash ,,its completely wrong...
How much more the company will spend a lot of time and money on damage control, in these economic times...truly they should initiate legal action

You are a false reporter. Why can't you tell the truth and give a balance reportage?

This is a documentary by BBC on drugs abuse by Nigerian youths. You have to apologise or edit the title of the topic
But why should the BBC be reporting news in Nigeria or Africa? What happened to the epidemics in Britain?

This is the most stupid news I have read.
How is Emzor in hot water?
The sales rep in most pharmaceutical companies are pharmacists . Emzor has no query here, except the rep isn't a pharmacist.
Re: Emzor Sales Rep Caught In Illegal Codeine Sale By Undercover Reporters (VIDEO) by jamesachile2: 11:05am On Apr 30, 2018
I think the sales rep or someone or some pharmaceutical company local or international wants to bring emzor down.

And So?
Nigeria is a lawless country
Man must hustle ,Any way na way
Pharmacist must sell drugs to survive!
What are you even saying??! Any way is no damn way. Am a pharmacist, and I don't do dubious things to survive. I can bet you that dude is not a pharmacist. No properly trained pharmacist can be that dumb, desperate or stoop so low. That's the problem with most indigenous pharmaceutical companies, they contract non-pharmacists to do the job of handling, and detailing drugs. This is just one of the end results.

A company cannot sack someone selling it's products

He's doing what he was employed to do : sell

Unless he's stealing from the company
He's authorized to sell only to registered pharmacies. The pharmacies themselves are authorized to sell only to patients with genuine prescription from a doctor. So selling to any other third party is basically drug dealing prosecutable by NDLEA.

What is so appealing about codeine? How does it help a human? Does it enhance muscles or intelligence or wisdom? Does it bleach or enhance beauty? Does it fill your stomach so you won't have to eat for 6months? Does it increase sperm count or dick size/erection? Does it slow ageing? Does it rejuvenate a vintage pussy?

I don't get why people are drawn to vices that have absolutely no positives.

The problems is just poverty. Parents should have the resources to adequately raise (not train) their kids to have a focus and a sense of pride. I know there will be some rich kids that indulge but most of these drug abusers are kids from poor homes.

Anyways, biko add my bbm pin DCD707FA. My dick pic is my DP smiley
Which poverty? Come and see how girls and guys from well to do families are consuming this syrup. Drug abuse cut across all socio-economy class.

Wrong! For 2 reasons;

1. You do not have access to ALL the users of the product, therefore you cannot state what wealth demographic abuse the product the most.

2. If you read my post entirely, you'll notice I differentiated between RAISED and TRAIN. It is always better to raise a child than train the child. A rich man can train his child and a not-so-rich man can raise his child. What sets apart both upbringing methods is simply INTELLIGENT ATTENTION and not money only. It is the sort of attention that brings out confidence and a healthy sense of pride in a child while tacitly focusing the child on productive career driving goals.

When we make mention of industrous, funny, humble and very energetic sales man, this man got all d qualities to be one,he covers most territory in Lagos and ogun beyond,to beat up with his target, why would anyone on Earth could blackmail him to this extent, why,my question is ,if codeine products are banned ,why r companies still producing, where are d regulatories officers, why are representives of each pharmaceuticals still selling it out to the public, what offense has this gentle man commit.we should all ask our self the extent at which ,we ve all gone through to make ends meet. Ask ur self.

I see you are the type that clinge to ideas even when you are pointed out to be wrong.

I drive Uber and Taxify here in Abuja and I know the people I take to Zone 4 to buy all sorts of drugs including codeine. I and other Uber drivers know the drug addicts, cheating wives, prostitutes and the drunks. I've been doing this since 2016 so I know.
