For those who dont know, that is the register of those who actually were the POTUS guest a the white house. More like an attendance register. Buhari did not close any deal with the POTUS, he did not enter into any bilateral agreement. He just signed the attendance register and hence 'deserves some accolades'.

Anyway, for going in and coming out without any gaff or major spoof from his part, its a success by apc standard, its immaterial if he achieved anything for Nigeria

As an African and a Nigerian specifically, I find it very disappointing when I see my fellow Africans ignorantly displaying neo-colonialism. It is even more painful when the display comes from our leaders.

Why do Africans and African leaders always require western acceptance and acknowledgement before they can see themselves as OK or in the right?

For the sake of all things good, how can a visit to the US President by our president be considered an achievement? I listened to the joint press briefing. It was praise praise praise for America. I did not hear him present our case or demands. What were the historical agreements reached on trade?

On America buying less Nigerian crude he answered saying "I will not tell another country what to do" - I mean what the hell does that mean? There was no negotiation by him in any way in that briefing. I even saw a place where Trump queried PMB in a manner that sounded like him issuing instruction on the issues he should speak on.

He looked overwhelmed once again, probably even awed. As much as some people hat OBJ - he has a commanding persona anywhere at international gatherings. He holds his own and says his position. He is an African who doesn't cower at the sight of foreigners.

Trump got more accolades from Buhari than even the Americans give him and Buhari will get even less from Nigerians for this one sided show of weakness

The point is, what did he achieve in that visit. What and what was consolidated and agreed to the benefit of Nigerians. To me, the president was so out of touch in the whole meeting. He couldn't look into Trump's face and speak. He was always rubbing his hand, an indication of discomfort and lack of ideas on what to say. His responses were not strong and emphatic. No speech upgrading the integrity of Nigeria. We are a great country but we don't have a great leader. No special intellectual acumen shown from him.
