I am off today.

So i said earlier, things are suppose to be easier after getting a residency?

Hell no. I take that back. Don't get me wrong, i am doing remarkably okay. But i am stressed out. holy shhhit, I am stressed out.

I work in boston. Pay in boston is relatively higher. I get paid 21.75$ starting and i work 40-47hrs per week. I get two days off. I am however, sick of the driving. The traffic is terrible. I spent 2 hours in a 45-50mins drive. I have to pay 9$ to park everyday (they are increasing it to 16$ cos other parking garage is 16$). I have been applying to other jobs and doing interviews. I just haven't found something yet.

Getting a job is hard. DOn't get me wrong, there are jobs everywhere BUT once you become LEGAL (no more on a visa), you become so picky, your qualifications and how it can help your career path or a paying job comes to play.

I have become so picky. I have no passion to work long hours or Nights right now.

Right now, i just wanna find something closer so i don't have to drive far. I have two interviews scheduled for the rest of the week for now. I hope i get something.

Let me go back and sleep some more grin grin

Lol. Yes you tend to be picky when you are legal.

I told a friend I quit my job for another less paying job. He said I am mad.

He was only looking at the pay but he failed to realised how much I actually make after deduction. Gas, tolls, loong driving.

Mrk K and I made a mistake.

We should have approached the bank for loan and buy a house. (she has really good credit like i said). We found out we could have been approved for 150,000$ or more and we could have just bought a house.

Our rent right now is around 1550$ (not including gas, internet and electricity). we are basically paying someone else mortgage. Its all a learning process. Painful but no biggie

Elo Blowjobs.

Nice thread.

i think i know you in person ( you have some Jamo friends like that). I live in Lowell and it seems we have one friend in common ( he is Jamo) You don't really have a naija accent and i think your gf is Kailee, she lives in Lynn. Remember that person with the 2012 Camry LE and you said you were looking to upgrade?

How far chairman. your Aduro don land?

show make we relate nah.

Just seeing this LOL.

No, you don't. I do have Jamaican friends, Bajan friends and Mexicans.

Nope, i do have a Nigerian accent ( i can mask it though). it comes out fully when i get angry grin grin

Mrs K is not Kailee, nothing in her name has K in it (it sounds K when pronounced)

we don't live in Lynn or Massachusetts grin

Coincidentally, I drive a 2017 Camry Le cheesy cheesy

you got the wrong person bro.

Thanks though grin grin

Yeah, A guy in OH told me how lucrative real estate is IF you know you way around it. he buys a house on mortgage and lease it out.

Even here in Chicago, Nigerians do it well... They buy houses and look for people to occupy it(Nigerians too). A house might be 5 rooms 2.5 bathroom(including basement) and lease it out 400$ per month to Nigerians(Maximum of 2 people in a room)

The house will be like military baracks grin grin

He knows why he prefers Nigerian tenants, because most whites are like professional tenant who knows how to use the law to their advantage.

so i have been doing interview just for the fun of it.

Yesterday, i got called for an interview.

This white 27yrs old lady interviewed me and i could sense the Nervousness in her voice (she is the hiring manager lol)

Something about me makes her nervous like she literally melting like a jello (maybe i am her first black candidate, maybe she has a fetish for black guys. i really don't know. i don't plan to find out)

I used it to my advantage and turned around the interview.

I asked her how long she's been working there and what level she started at. I asked her if she likes her job, i asked her how old she is and i almost asked her to hypothetically tell me why i should hire her. it was my funniest interview experience ever. She said she's gonna talk to her GM and give me a call.

I am so unserious with life right now. Now that i can get a job, i am fooling around.

Don't mind me people. I am still basking in the excitement of showing my green card every time lol

Go and learn the trade by the time you are done learning the trade you will have another idea of what to do.

@ Addy People don't get visa to the Us when the visit the embassy with a desperate intention to abuse the Visa. You don't just appear at the US embassy and expect the consular to hand you a visa. Get your acts together and have a tangible reason to visit the US.
Wishing you guy success.

Pls, tell me way a Nigeria graduate unemployed with no resources can leave this country.
I'm just tired believe me, when you see a graduate unemployed, now resolved to learning trade, with no future at sight. since early this year I resolved to travel, by Jan I got my passport, since then I'm just in limbo of what next.
pls help me.

Sure. i'll be reading my PMs this weekend and replying. I haven't checked my Nairaland email in a while. Bear with me guys

If you wanna send PM, go ahead.

Starting a new job on Tuesday. I have done 5 interviews so far and still have lots of interview to go. I just mass-applied to Specific jobs on Indeed just for the fun of it.

I will only take jobs closer to our home, gives good benefits, flexible with working hours and allow me to take exams when i need to.

Bros there are things the recruiter would not tell you now because he wants to get you into the army. The minimum contract you sign is 4 years active duty and then 2 years inactive reserves meaning they can call you back within those 2 years if war breaks out Lol.On the issue of citizenship ;trump last October changed the rule that allowed immigrant enlistees to apply for citizenship after 1 day of active duty service. Now to be considered you have to wait at least a year and 6 months minimum. 1 year in Delayed entry program(dep)for security and background investigation before shipping to basic training and then another 6 months of active duty service. The military is good sha as they train you either in school or a skill that will fetch you money free of charge

Hello,
Please I need advise on what step to take. My fiance is in US and we plan to get married later in the year.
I've been to the US twice last year on a visit visa which I just renewed again this year.
My question now is which route is the fastest to getting an immigrant visa to enable me join him legally.
We were thinking of going to court dis summer when I visit again but learnt there's a new 90-days rule stating you can't come in with your visiting visa and get married to a US citizen before 90days during your visit.
I'm not sure about how long it'll take to process the fiancee or spouse visa.
Pls I need your advise on my best option to go about this.

Bro, trust me. I have done the "Mental gymnastics" and weigh my options carefully before deciding. My main aim is getting my parents here as fast as possible before old age health issues starts to set in. and i believe that will in a way help others that wants to come behind though theirs might take years. It is all sacrifices

Another thing i took note of is the training aspects and the benefits i might get doing that.

I'm giving myself 4years max. Regardless of what the recruiter says or didn't say, i am joining. No be Soldier dey go war. a lot of them are just administrative duties.

If there is anything you think i should know, please enlighten me

I found you guys someone on this forum heading to the Caribbean
For those looking to schooling in the Caribbean, you should be friends with this guy

https://www.nairaland.com/1224564/socail-visit-visa-trinindad-tobago/12#66831333

Once he settles in, he most likely can help you out (getting admitted mostly)

Also, for nurses looking the caribbean way, he Might be able to help out.

Don't bombard him with emails oo, give him time to get his footings. it can be exhausting sometimes.
