Everyone, myself inclusive, times without number, have sunk our fangs deep into the executive arm of this government.

I think I'm even neglecting the weightier matter: I need to descend on this 8th assembly. It is apparent that the executive can carry on this shame of a scam called democracy ONLY because the legislative arm, by and large is a den of dodgy characters.
They have indeed drawn my ire. A wolf will always give birth to a wolf.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Yakubu Dogara, has urged the police to prioritize the health and safety of Sen. Dino Melaye before prosecution.

Dogara made the call at the plenary on Thursday in Abuja after a personal explanation was raised by Rep. Sunday Karimi (Kogi-PDP) drawing the attention of the House to Dino’s plight.

The senator is currently facing a seven-count charge of criminal conspiracy and unlawful possession of firearms in Kogi State.

The helmsman of the green chambers, however, said that anyone who committed any offence must face the law.

The speaker said he had not seen any country where anybody had been arraigned in court on stretchers.

“I have not seen in any country where someone is arraigned in court on stretchers when he or she is not fit to plead guilty or not guilty.

“If anything happens to him, (Dino) the responsibility will be on the security agency,” he said.

Earlier, speaking under personal explanation, Karimi said in the process of arresting and transporting Dino from Abuja to Lokoja by the police, the lawmaker was involved in an accident and was hospitalised.

Karimi said that he counted no fewer than 36 policemen guarding the hospital where Dino was receiving treatment.

He said Dino, who had yet to fully recover, was being tried while still on stretcher.

According to him, Dino is being persecuted for his political believe and what is happening to him can happen to any of us.

“I appeal to the house to look at the issue and make sure due process is followed,” he said. (NAN)

@Mr speaker: Just as you have not seen in any where in the world where a serving senator is arraigned on stretcher, I have not also heard any where in the world where a serving senator is supplying fire arms to criminals, and I have not also seen any where in the world where a serving senator will jump out of police moving vehicles.

U can see part of d reasons we are where we are. That was a honourable member of House of Representatives, a house where intellectual debates should be the norms in the process of formulating laws for us, you can see how inarticulate, mischievous, moronic he was at describing the event that led Melaye to the hospital and none of his colleagues could simply correct him to at least put the records straight before making pronouncement on the matter.

Melaye's accident was self inflicted. He attempted to escape from legal custody, he confirmed he did, a fellow senator, Ben Murray Bruce also confirmed Melaye attempted to escape from the police van transporting him.

So the house could entertain a matter based on falsehoods and that has been there stocks in trade and that is why we are here today.

nigeria police,area b,apapa,locked me up for days,i asked them what was my offence,the refused explanation,when i was released,they seized my laptop from me saying its an exhibi.i reported the matter to force headquarters,obalende,they summoned them to come and explained.they refused but later returned my laptop there.when i was called to come for my lapp,the obalende group said i should bring N50,000.As if to bargain,they asked me how much i get,i checkeed i was N1,500.they laughed,'go and come back with N10,000.'I lef and called anoher officer(whom i know)he gave me N3500,i added to my own give them N5000.
surprised! they rushed it from my hand,dust my laptop (which has been with them for over 30 days) and handed over to me.

Are you saying none of he ogas is unaware of the illegal detention(area commander signed it) not asking intelligent question as to what was is his offence? the wish to blackmail,intimidate,extort money from me,which i happened to be a bad market for them,hhence wasting my time.

So therefore,let dino,saraki,other lawmakers,enjoy what ordinary citizen suffers in police hands and come up with solutions,for now,i know Dogara is merely barking

do you have proof that Omo-Agege brought those thugs to the NASS No. Omo-Agege was arrested too, his case was not criminal as such and he went to court to enforce his right, which the court granted. So what is your complain here? Or is Buhari and the police in charge of the courts? Please we are in a democracy here. Let us respect the right of each branch of government.
