Though I love the looks of the 2006 Toyota Avensis so much, I would love to know if it could compete favourably with the Toyota Corolla of same year in terms of fuel efficiency and ruggedness.

Both cars are Toyota so the reliability is confirmed
- Corolla has more ground clearance
- Avensis has more styling, Interior wise Corolla is too boring/bland
- Fuel consumption- Corolla wins, Corolla's 1.8l engine vs Avensis 2.0l engine.. Difference in the fuel consumption won't be too much.
- Corolla get vandalised and stolen alot.
- Avoid any converted Avensis.

My Final verdict

If you want a very fuel efficient and reliable car that will take you from point A - B.. Buy the corolla
If you want a fuel efficient and reliable car that will carry you from point A - B with a little style, Get the Avensis


NB If you are buying Naija Used, Buy corolla And forget the avensis and if you eventually buy the corolla; Comprehensive insurance is a must

Resale value of Corolla far higher than Avensis.
Both rugged actually.
Corolla more Fuel efficient.

Con:
Avensis less likely to be stolen or vandalized than Corolla.

Final position:
Would advice you get Corolla & do Insurance.

P.S: I don't presently have at the moment so you should get Gazzuzz's own sharply before someone else does & you won't regret it.

Personally I would get the Avensis.. If it is strictly for the personal use.. No Uber or taxify runs

Well, I use avensis. Is fun to drive. You will feel like a boss. For fuel and and being strong I think they are almost same. I think if you never get money you can go for corolla to be on safe side in case of anything. Otherwise , sound avensis is heavier and enjoyable. Cheers.

Toyota avensis n corolla are bland soulless driving cars. Very boring you wanna feel like a boss get an Avalon or a crown majesta
