However the concept of heaven and hell has its advantages cos without there would be no control people will start killing spree and stuff!

I would rather live as though there is heaven and hell, so that when I die if there is no such I'm not at lost, but the scenario where I live as though there is no either heaven or hell only for me to die and realize that there is heaven and hell mehn that will so terrible cause I can't go back to make amends

It's only when you have understood the law before you can even make it to Heaven, but meanwhile you are one those that are doing good so that you can make it to heaven. If you want to make it to heaven you must be a genuinely good person from your heart not just for the sake of going to heaven. Assuming there was no heaven and hell u would be a bad person because no one is going to judge you at the end of time.
It's just like a woman who's dating a man because of his money and wealth and you sure know how it's going to end in such relationships.
