Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by mightyola: 1:19pm On May 10, 2018
From what i know. They only do background checks for a country where you have lived in for more than 6months.2 days here, 10 days there does not count. The major check will be your Cyprus years.I stand to be corrected.

Prudento:

I understand they will have to grab your immigration files from those three countries and run checks on you. That takes time.

My school already resumed since May 7th Thompson Rivers University but I’ve deferred it to the September intake period.

@Slik07 , So what qualifies the wife for Spousal? if the husband(principal applicant) still don't have any right to be in Canada at the time of applying?

You apply at same time as a family, when they approve the principal applicant, they approve every other person.

You can apply for a visit visa for them, but remember you have to convince the visa officer of their return. So i think going the study permit way is the best since you have already been granted your visa and you are still 'outside' Canada. It would have been a different ball game if you already inside.

Everything you need to make informed decision is available on cic website(the scenario i copied was from cic page).

Thank you.
So in conclusion, the child needs to apply for a study permit and not visitors visa?
And you are certain of this?
What if the child goes to Canad with a visitor visa and since he is already in Canada, now applies for study permit,
which he may not need at that point anyway? Is this legal?

Okay bro. Hope you've gotten the new admission letter because CIC will request for it before their final decision. It will end in praise.

If you have created an account with cic for your study permit, the link to upload each of the document required is there.

Please I've been scouting kijiji for rent in Toronto. They keep on mentioning on their rental ads that previous landlord reference letter will be required. I have never rented a place my whole life and hence have no "previous landlord". What do I do in this kind of situation? Will the landlords insist on such reference letters?

Hold on my people.... I don't understand why same questions will be asked repeatedly after it has been answered the previous page and sometimes in the same page. Please someone kindly explain..
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by launrey(m): 8:44pm On May 10, 2018
Tell the landlord that you're a new immigrant and its your first time in Canada. He would be happy to rent out to you because I had the same issue too. You have to pay the first and last month rent down though.
