Apart from that sef, umbilical hernia is a defect, an anomally. It is a hole in the abdominal wall. When you laugh, cough, cry, etc, it protrudes. SOmetimes, your intestines could fine its way there and it could be painful. When your intestines get in there and they have trouble coming out and blood supply to the trapped part is cut off, it is called strangulation and it becomes a matter of urgency and repair is the only option.

This is not mentioning the fact that during training, you could engage in exercises (such as boxing) that could rip that place open.

I think it makes sense that people with umbilical hernia are screened out
