It's not as if these Gunmen hide oo , they are always seen gathering days before the attacks and despite calls on the security forces to disband them nothing ever happens .. the plain truth is that these attack have the blessing of a very very senior govt official

They don't hide. Can you take the army to their abode and see if they won't be arrested.

What happened to nigerian police, civil defence, air force even if the navies cant leave the sea...
Recently, the presidency nullified the peace corp, now they complaining of manpower shortage.

Like that is not enough, what about monies released by the president? This is a a problem that requires innovative and tactical approach, why not invest in technology to enhance the human capital deficit, afterall they just withdrew over 1billion dollars from the treasury to combat security or that money don finish?

I saw Two things clearly here. Gross and shameful incompetency. Contradictory and lying government. President said, killers are from Libya, they are saying, it was the weapons that are foreign. Who said the weapons were made in Nigeria before.? When will this govt be proactive and stop disgracing itself

Wow

Everytime I have heard this man speak I surely think to myself this is the stupidest person Nigeria could have ever elected then he opens his mouth a says something again and out does himself

Words literally fail me to describe the deep of stupidity this man displays every single time

No wonder his dimwits praise the most mediocre things about him like when he uses a microphone or when lots of paid people come to receive him at the airport

Other countries presidents are paid for Superbowl economic and diplomatic initities but here scroll over the last 3 years of threads on nairaland where this dunce is praised

It's either for commissionof a building or release of a list or release of uselss stats

It's shocking how stupid this country is

No wonder foreigners just don't.resoect Nigerians and no it's not because of the Yahoo boys it's because when anyone in the world visits sites like nairaland and see what this idiot is being praised for they just wonder how backwards Nigerians really are

I mean the other day a governor empowered his citizens with shieshining kits ? And it's on the internet I can only imagine what citizens in developed counties will think

You see APC Dimwits forget that the world is a global.village and it's not just about propaganda locally anymore anything on the internet had gone global

So while you blame the Yahoo boys off course who are stupid too but remember the damage people.like buhari and politicians are doing to.your image is beyond imagination

I mean look at the usuelss comment a.president is making and this commnet had gone global.because it's on the internet

Tomorrow when a foreigner tells you that Nigerians are.monkies you will.scream racist and bloody murder

If some Nigerians are not monkies what normal adult will support a president who thinks like this ?

What are you ranting about bro? Just calm down.

Take a look at your post again and see if it relates to this topic of discussion.

So Nigeria that sends soldiers to guard other countries can't protect itself?
If the gov't can't protect less than 10 states then it should vamoose
Isn't it obvious the gov't doesn't want to touch them?
With just drones and intense air force combing, this menace would be eradicated in days

silastemplar:
so in your opinion Nigeria has enough soldiers to protect all the villages in the middle belt? Yes or no

Oh my goodness. I think these people are being economical with the truth. Honestly speaking there's something they are not telling us about these herdsmen.
Nigeria has more than enough soldiers to curtail this infiltration, I think what is lacking is will power and interest.
All these soldiers that are in barracks all over the Nation idling away, what are they doing? What about the Nigerian Air Force? How may times have there been Air Patrol around the troubled regions?
We saw the zeal, passion and speed to which the operation Python dance was executed in a matter that is purely civil, but here we are in a real war situation and they said we don't have enough soldiers.
These terrorist are thriving because the government of the day is not ready to deal decisively with them.
Now it's becoming clearer why these morons are wielding AK47 with impunity.

You are the one being a liar here. Ipob was not a disguised enemy and never used guerrilla tactics and they were located in one area but here we are talking about multiple villages that are spread acrros the state. How many villages do you pass whenever you are travelling? It will be foolish for any country to send ALL of its personnel to one part of the country and leaving the others vulnerable. If you knew anything about how the military works you wouldn't have typed this rubbish

Recruiting more soldiers is not the answer. What they should do is what we should have done years ago after we switched to democracy and scrap the federal police model and live policing to local communities just like the British did. This was an effective model for a country with a large population until Aguiyi Ironsi changed all that and centralized policing in the hands of the Fed govt Its no wonder we have a problem we are having so many security issues in this country.

Weren't the local communities disarmed and told to trust the gov't?
What are you even talking about?
There is no political will to stop the killing, they won't even call them terrorists!!

davidif:

Wrong! Policing should be left to local communities not the Fed govt. They are stretched waaaay too thin. The less the the Fed govt has on its plate, the more effective they tend to be.

This is nice idea. A way forward. I believe the police is grossly ineffective in its central function. In fact they have show so many times to Nigerians to be the opposite of what they represent. Policemen should actively be involved in this fight... But they are undertrained, unreliable and corruption within the police force makes it seem like the institution is under funded. Serious reform and ideas like yours can go along way to solve some of the 'police problems'
Re: Killings: We Don’t Have Enough Soldiers To Guard Every M’belt Village, Says FG by Marvin10(m): 9:07am On May 18, 2018
This is a very careless talk by FG... What they can simply do is to send Benue soldiers, police and all benue people in uniform to defend their town after all Buratai is from Borno and that was why the military was able to bring boko haram insurgency down, obviously because he could not stand by and watch his people die. Please do the needful FG and stop giving excuses for failures.

Two, NEMA is redesigning the settlements in the villages to bring more communities together so that people don’t live too far apart.

My concern is the above
It might reduce attack as well as increase coordinated attack with many casualties.

There are many youth that want to join Military force and civil defense why not recruit them
Since you are now complaining of shortage of personal

Resettlement of the communities together for better security is a fat lie, it is to create a larger grazing area for the killer herdsmen.
