IGP Idris Vs Saraki: Justice Ministry Speaks On Report Linking Senate President by Alphasoar(m): 11:15am On May 20, 2018
The Kwara State Ministry of Justice, on Saturday reacted to reports claiming that some murder suspects recently arrested by the State Police Command in Ilorin and transported to Abuja, named the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, governor Abdulfattah Ahmed, as their sponsors.

A report had claimed that alleged cultists had identified both Saraki and the governor in their confessional statements.

Reacting, however, to the report, the State Ministry of Justice insisted that the alleged cultists never implicated anybody in their confessional statements.
A statement by Jimoh Mumini, the Director of Public Prosecution, Kwara State Ministry of Justice said the allegation was a plot to tarnish the image of imminent personalities and the

DPP maintained that the report was “politically motivated and will definitely fail.”

The statement reads, “The attention of the Kwara State Ministry of Justice has been drawn to a story published by an online medium that the suspected cultists arrested and interrogated by the Police in Ilorin and recommended for trial by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) but suddenly transferred to Police Headquarters, Abuja, had in their statement indicted some top personalities.

“We want to state categorically that there is no iota of truth in the said story. Our belief that the said story is false arose from the fact that the summary of the statement voluntarily made by the suspects and on the basis of which they were recommended for trial in Ilorin is contained in the press statement read by the Police Commissioner on May 10, 2018. We maintain that there was no portion of the press statement where the suspects were said to have indicted any top personality.

“For emphasis, let us restate the fact that on the basis of the statement obtained from the accused, the Police had issued a statement read publicly at the May 10 press conference in the state capital and there was no mention of their naming or implicating any top government official at the state or federal level.

“The State Ministry of Justice had in fact filed charges in the High Court against the accused persons and we stand by the pending charges and the trial process already lawfully initiated in Ilorin.

“We hereby call on members of the public to disregard and ignore the publication as the medium on which it appeared is widely known to suffer credibility problem.

“At no time was any influence, whatsoever, exerted to pervert the course of justice, nor monetary transaction or any exchange of pecuniary benefit made between the learned DPP and the Commissioner of Police with respect to this particular case or any other case for that matter.

“We boldly state that at no time ever since the resumption of duties of the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Kwara State Police Command has there been any opportunity, for the learned DPP to have any discussion, whatsoever, with him.

“Therefore, all insinuations relating to undue influence through offer of gratifications or any other means, made by the discredited online publication are mere figment of the imagination and misguided attempt by the sponsor of the online medium aimed at tarnishing the image of the learned DPP, Mr. JIMOH ADEBIMPE MUMINI Esq. This campaign of calumny against the DPP by the sponsor(s) of the online publication is politically motivated and will definitely fail.

“The Commissioner of police or the authors of the defamatory article aimed at tarnishing the image of the learned DPP are hereby challenged to make public any evidence of any discussion or transaction, whatsoever, between the Commissioner of Police and the learned DPP, MR. J.A MUMINI aimed at influencing or subverting the course of justice in this direction.”

What do u expect from a tyrant government

A report emerged few weeks ago, that evil Buhari and his cohorts want to use intimidation to muzzle out opposition and perceived enemies through any means at their disposal just to make sure they returned to power.

What is the beauty of democracy if you are using intimidation and force to coerce citizens

I know how many people this evil government killed, jailed, framed up just for them to rot in jail!

Nigerian police is our greatest enemy in this planet.

What ever comes out from their mouth is false...that's why whenever they catch or kill criminals, i don't celebrate them, coz those people they killed are innocent!

if they can shamelessly open their stinking mouth and frame Nnamdi Kanu and his royal family that he stockpile bombs in his residence of abode

I won't be surprise the treatment they are giving to the number 3 citizen!

That is an evil despotic nincompoop Buhari for u.

He has brought back his 1983 despotic rule again!

But one thing i know is that God's will must surely prevail!

If the DPP is independent, they wouldn't have made the press release because it's unnecessary.

When the Police is through with their investigation, they will still return the suspects to Ilorin for prosecution and it is the same DPP office that will handle the matter based on the evidence deciphable from the Police investigation.

The Judiciary need to be independent from the executive. Until that is done, our judicial system will remain in disarray

Because senators address Saraki as Mr President, he began to feel he is equal with PMB. Forgetting that the votes that took him to the senate wasn't close to a million.

Lies from both IG, saraki, the governor of Kwara state, and the ministry of justice of kwara state. shocked shocked

Tho the IG is evil and incompetent but it’s not easy to just frame anybody in the offense he/she knows nothing about not to talk of the number 3 citizen of the federal republic of Nigeria. shocked shocked

Bukola Saraki inherited kwara state from his father thus, the secrete of his evil deeds will always be cover up.

I know this Kwara state DPP

The guy is corrupt to the bone.

Many known cultists and armed robbers undergoing prosecution were left of the hook courtesy of this DPP

If those suspects are returned to Ilorin, as SarAki desperately wants, I can bet a million on it that the case will not stand the test of time

What is wrong with these wailers, must wailing kill your sense of reasoning, even if anyone kill their mother, they will still support the person so far he is anti buhari

Why would a sane Nigerian support any senator who refused to pass our budget because of padding

The DPP shouldn't have made that statement especially because of their independence but in your heart of hearts, following the antecedents of this IGP and FG,do you think they will return the suspects to Ilorin?
They won't,they will keep them in Abuja under protective custody and charge the SP to court, you and I know where this game is headed.
So it's like, the Kwara DPP getting orders from Saraki wants to dance in the gutter with the IGP asserting orders from Buhari...anybody seeing it otherwise isn't telling the truth.....The big question we should ask ourselves is this:
WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?
