They have been talking about restructuring Nigeria since Aburi in 1967 and have not come up with one single plan a out how they will restructure Nigeria.

The have had 8badan summit, Enugu summit , and now, Awka summit.

Yet not one of them can tell anyone how they will make the core North accept restructuring which they have long rejected.

They will hold this meeting, send out a communique about the need for restructuring and that will be that until the next summit

This meeting is a complete waste of time.

It is not. It creates awareness because when the next push back comes folks who support restructuring will play the tape again for the doubters to hear. Sometimes it takes more than a matchstick or two to start a fire. Definitely there will be some present here who will have scoffed at the reasons for restructuring a year, two years, perhaps five years ago but the tragedies of Nigeria overtime will have persuaded them. No one can doubt that the critical mass is building. Just one more tragedy....

As the picture below shows, the six geopolitical zones need to become six authonomous regions, with an elected government. Other reforms can be in the following forms;
1. A premier should be elected for the six regions. The 774 LGA chairmen should become regional legislators. The top traditional rulers from each region should form regional House of Chiefs (equivalent of Senate). The 36 states should be federating units within each region, the 3rd tier of government and as presently organised.

2. The resources found anywhere within the land border of the six regions would belong to the regional government. It would be theirs to exploit and share among their federating states. The entire resources found in Nigeria's territorial waters would belong to the Federal government. It would be theirs to exploit and utilise entirely for the funding of federal budgets. There would no longer be monthly allocations given to any state or region.

3. Until offshore oil finishes, taxes would only consist of state taxes and regional taxes. Taxes should seek to take much more from the rich (Dangote, Adenuga, Elumelu etc) than it currently does.

4. There would be a federal police, regional police and state police. All federal roads would belong to the regional government. All items on exclusive list (with exception of Military, Foreign affairs, CBN, Customs and Road safety) would be brought to the concurrent list so that Federal, Regional and State government can be involved as well.

5. The federal government would use its resources to develope Abuja, the FCT. It should also spend some resources on Special Economic Zones such as Lagos, PH and Kano

6. The regions should have authority to develope regional symbols such as flags, coat of arms and regional anthems. They should also be allowed to negotiate directly with foreign governments on Economic and cultural issues only.

For you to still want to hold on to the 774 LGAs, i'm guessing you're a northerner.

And besides, there's no restructuring that will be done without giving people a choice as to which region state they want to belong to. Right now, we have a situation where people were told by the military (and a few scheming politicians) which region/state they should be in. Freedom to choose means just that...freedom to choose!

in as much as oil still retain it value no deplomatic understanding will make northerners accede to restructuring unless we result to confrontation.the only national fabric that hold this country together is the crude oil, seperate nigeria from oil hausa fulani will call the country illegal.

IPOB gained prominence and won more converts mainly b'cos of Buharis' nepotism and wickedness towards Ndigbo! They had existed long before 2015, but didn't have as many followers back then.

Mazi Kanu is my hero and has many admirers!

oga, u need to wake up from ur slumber, oil is diminishing at a fast rate.

That aside, take oil away from Nigeria n let Nigeria separate, watch how southern Nigeria will develop faster than north. The north is always delusional, u can't do without d south, even without oil.

That elder and king is also there to waste time and to keep his “subjects” subjugated in the British corporation called Nigger Area so it’s good for him...

By the way, what type of summit is this. Is it in an open field or market that you will be talking about something serious? How can one side of this quack stadium hear those from the other side?

The biggest problem and obstacle that IPOB actually face is that a good section of those they are fighting for see themselves as Nigerians and are the only NIGERIANS that exist, because Hausa-Fulani and/or Yoruba see their tribe and even religion before they see Nigeria. Nigeria for them is only a concept to enrich themselves and have something to further their life or lifestyle, while stupid Igbo and minorities actually see themselves as “Nigerian” and thus will deny their history or even themselves...

What the hell is actually wrong with Ndigbo you ask, well you see in the pictures a lost, confused, orphaned, and corrupt society.

lol, focus on the message forget about my username that sound northern like.am a bonified southerner from edo state am simply trying to tell u that north will not easily give up it advantage because of love for oil and windfall revenue acccrueing to the region.so on this ground, gentle man agreement will never lead to restructuring of nigeria unles confrontational approach.am a proponent of fend for ur self federalism so that every region will develop at their own pace.the national fabric holding nigeria together is the oil,if oil looses it value today hausa fulani will felt other nigeria is deem unfit to be cohabiting the same national space with them.

The same Daniel KANU who did million march for Abacha life presidency?

Youths Earnestly Ask for Abacha, YEAA!

People like this should have no input in our democracy.

Why is Selemempe looking for me when I am not lost?

No! Abacha had the right to contest as a civilian president, we had former military generals who came back as civilian president eg olusegun Obasanjo and buhari even IBB nursed the idea of coming back as a civilian, so if Daniel Kanu organized a rally for Abacha he did so in support of democracy and he foresaw then that, that was the only means Democracy would be achieved through a military head of state who has accepted to forego a despotic form of rulership and to accept a constitutional accepted form of democracy,

That is the problem.

If igbos are united, there is nothing that can stop us from achieving our goals.

We are too aggressive ,too ubiquitous , to be stopped if we are united.

We are everywhere in the high and low places .

The only thing remaining is unity to maximise the advantage , just like the Zionists utilise their ubiquitousness to advance their global cause.
Thank you my brother it is saddening that our disunity has been so exploited by other to their advantage at our own detriment, and at the end we are left with nothing, but this will end now we are back to our senses

-You have said it all. Keep that mindset going, I love that and ensure you teach your children or people around you as well. We can only try and wake our people, Ndi-Igbo, up from their slumber. I have Yoruba and Hausa associates and they are always their tribe(Nation) first. But my people keep dwelling in delusional grandeur.
