Earlier today, reporters covering the training were saying Bale trained like he wasn't starting (meaning he wasn't as intense in training as CR7 for example). Then hours later Marca change their probable lineup to a 4-3-3 and say the BBC starting is most likely.

Sorry, ain't buying it until I see the actual lineup. They just want to throw Liverpool off because they only have one style, we have a whole alphabet of styles and schemes.

Personally, I don't fancy the whole end-to-end setup. Not necessarily because Liverpool could potentially outscore us, but because it plays to their strengths, and we shouldn't be doing that.

If this game gets to 60" and we are still at parity, we win. If it goes to extra time, we win. If it goes to pen, we win. The Liverpool plan is to have us chase the game. They aren't looking to break down our defense by intricate passing from the back through the midfield (a la Barca), they want to create chances simply by geggenpressing. Hoping that as many of our march forward turn to breaks for them.

So instead of trying to flood their area, how about we keep possession, using our exceptional passing to evade their press and try to pick our moments. They'd get sick of it and become restless/reckless. We know how to manage games, we shouldn't give them what they want.

That's exactly how Chelsea, Tott, and Man U got them. Guardiola tried to be a fanatic 3 times, he failed every time.
