Drag and drop applications is not what developers spend more than 5% of their time doing. Developers create the drag and drop applications 95% of the time or at least improve it. You can encourage them to dream and build something different but celebrating WordPress is not a bad thing. In fact this type of meeting should even be encouraged as it gives the rather lonely developers time to meet with one another and share ideas.

Save for Paystack who developed wordpress plugin for their payment platform, Nigerian developers would rather invest their time in custom software than building a plugin for a CMS.

Well I use WordPress for quick jobs, quick money, quick website, quick 1 week delivery and move on to my better software development.

Am a freelance developer good in web application development, JAVA and Android dev. but am open to take up a full time job to horn my team work skills and take my career up notch.

You are right, the OP didn't know what is the difference between a designer and a developer. Most people on that pix are designers not developers. I guess the OP did some misinterpretation.

it depends on what you want to achieve, if a website needs just a handful of functions, then wordpress is the way tk go but when you start talking of websites as products, api stuff, then you need to code....as for me I code all through, I don't even use frameworks.....got my own library

In IT u can't cut shortcut to be a producer. Wordpress users are users and not developers.

They are developers when another developer is building operating systems and embedded systems.
