At least it’s good to see them celebrat something positive. Not all companies can afford a huge number of developers for their sites, but the best websites that offer great content are always in high demand.

Walmart paid billions for their main website so they could compete with amazon — result- increased sales mainly due to online sales. But we have to understand that Walmart makes about 500bn sales every year.

I prefer a customized website built from scratch than WordPress. if you want to build a big sophisticated website with room for expansion in the future,top security, and high level privacy,etc. custom is much better . Customized products will always be better than generic products .
facebook ,youtube,amazone,etc are customized website. Facebook is worth 400 billion dollars, youtube is worth 40 billion dollars,Amazon is worth 120 billion dollars.
Facebook has over 60,000 servers which keeps increasing everyday. they're all kept in a vast cooler . Facebook has over 62 million lines of coding which keeps expanding everyday.
A lot of developers today are too lazy and prefer the easy way out .

You can do anything you like with WP.....you can create better security plugins if the ones available doesn't meet ur fancy....


You can create better themes for WordPress

You can create better page builder...

You can do a whole lot with your skill as a developer to make WordPress better

mvc is just a pattern, in my applications not all I use mvc.... I am building a windows PC software with PHP and Sqlite and I am. not using mvc pattern

The more those works are easy the more you loose your programming skills. The more we become consumers instead of producers.

In IT u can't cut shortcut to be a producer. Wordpress users are users and not developers.

They are developers when another developer is building operating systems and embedded systems.

I get your point, boss, but what's the essence of trekking from Lagos to Abuja to have a meeting with a client in Abuja when u can afford to take a flight and be in Abuja in less than an hour?

In truth, if u continue to use html codes for Web programming when there's a plethora of web development tools at your disposal, I think your boss will consider u an unproductive staff.

What you do should be customer based and when many of your clients want a job done in no time, you go for WP.

Save for Paystack who developed wordpress plugin for their payment platform, Nigerian developers would rather invest their time in custom software than building a plugin for a CMS.

Well I use WordPress for quick jobs, quick money, quick website, quick 1 week delivery and move on to my better software development.

As huge as clickbank is, they use wordpress (to those calling it a blogging platform). Wordpress uses rest api and if you know coding, you will understand how much u can use it's api. with it's api you can perform CRUD on any mobile or web application. Wordpress powers over 25% percent of websites in the world... The rest is shared among thousands of other raw and cms platforms. With it's recent releases, it can hold up heavy and large database with no issues.

Finally let us not forget that wordpress is an open source platform. People mistake to the same thing as wordpress.org. they are completely different. is of blogging while wordpress.org can be used to achieve any form of web application
