Please how do you make this claim and also how to register for concession card. Thanks

Centerlink link claims,we were paid family tax benefit part A and B,family rebate and child care assistance. This all sumed up to $621 forthnightly for the first 4months,it came down to 550 and then now sits at $89 fortnightly. It reduces with every income increase.
Childcare rates was $113 for two kids initially (5days a week) and now is $370 a week.

We also got a concession card which has now been cancelled since we both have jobs. With the concession card,we paid discounted electricity and waterbills, half price for transportation, free ambulance cover, susbsizied fees if we had done any studies at the time and my first kid who is in kinder got 15hours free of daycare weekly .

Do you have any kids?

If yes,you need to complete your Centre link details first and foremost. You have to ensure that his Nigerian immunization records have been updated to acceptable Oz standards before any payments can given( any bulk billing dr/hospital can help with that).

You don’t need to apply for a concession card.If your income is below a certain threshold, you will be sent the card.

Kindly confirm the visa on VEVO. But then, Australia stopped stickers a long time ago I wonder why you've got a sticker on your passport. Nevertheless, confirm the authenticity on VEVO. My one cent.

Good Evening Nairaland,

There is an agent who did work permit visa for my friend to travel to Australia directly attached to a company in Australia. The class visa is 459. The agent also said the company will come at the airport to pick them up on there arrival day and also provide accommodation for them when they get there. Please how is that possible? Because to me i don't think this is real deal? Find the attached of the visa below.

Thanks

Just to draw attention to a matter that seems to be happening more of late.
3 different people have reached out personally to me saying travel agents are helping them get temporary “work visas” so they can live and work in Australia.
It’s turned out that what they have paid those agents for are actually 600 tourist visas. The least I have heard is 1.1m!!!!!
Why an agent would take advantage of someone to the point of charging over 1m for a visa that costs just $165 is bewildering.Someone was even charged 1.5m!!!
Haba this is wickedness. On top of that you give them the false hope of coming to work in Australia on that same visa.

People should stop allowing themselves to be scammed this way.I totally understand the desperation to leave Nigeria but don’t come here in a shaky circumstance that would make you even worse than you were in Naija.

Life here without a legitimate visa is unbearable.

This is selfish you know.

Why not be patient and wait till she replied you. Do you know if she was dealing with something or at work that she could not reply you.

However, whatever information you need is at your fingertips. A simple Google search will solve some of your questions.

I don't mean to be rude but before you use a word on someone please do check the meaning again. Do you know what it mean for someone to be selfish. Let me assume that it was a slip of hand.

So laying my concern and how I feel is now being selfish?

I contacted her while I was in Nigeria, she replied with Hi. I got her email address and sent her my concerns which she never replied back until when I contacted her again now in Australia she still said hi and I sent my concerns to her as someone that knows better and she didn't reply and you call it am selfish....

So I don't have right to express myself again Mr bellong... ?

It's where I'm heading to, with same visa subclass (489).

Hi there,

How's the progress with your application?

The NT site is just so difficult to navigate. I can't even find the eligibility requirements for the different visa subclasses.

Hello jelmusboy,

Do you have an idea of the required POF that NT requires? and prevailing points for someone to receive ITA (for 489)?

I understand that 190 is for those with relatives in the region.

Madam you are just passing through a phase which most have passed through and they came out strong kindly be calm besides you have scale through the most difficult stage by coming here, all the infos you need to get it right are online a little google search will help you out. Go to any centrelink near you, tell them you are a new immigrant and they will tell you exactly what to do, go to any public transport station tell them you need a concession card, they will ask for your status and see if you are eligible for one. Move around, find a religious gathering, mix and ask questions, make use of the internet and with time you will be good to go.

Call Turkish to ask them for hotel bookings because of your long stop over I know of SAA that you have to book a week before flight date

If you have enough money go with shuttle service from the airport to your destination but if you want to save cost just use the train from the airport to the nearest train station to your destination and you use uber to get to your final destination At the airport ask questions from staffs on how to get opal card and load it do not be shy just ask questions and make sure you have A$ with you

@ happy4lucy, like someone has mentioned, you are just passing through a phase all new immigrants pass through. Just be calm about things, everything will start falling in place. To be honest, even if you have been in Oz for a while , there are still some challenges you will face that takes up your whole time. Sometimes responding to emails would just be the least of your worries.

That being said , could you let us know one by one the challenges you are facing , guys have been very very helpful on this forum. I would try to help you address each of them. I have a few people in Canberra who I can chat with to get you answers if need be. Also others here can also contribute to those answers as things get along.

Don't worry too much , things would take shape very soon. Cheers.

Madam Lucy.Welcome to OZ.First of all,you definitely need to learn patience in this town okay.

We all have very busy lives here(which you will too soon by the way) so if anybody makes out time to come back to nairaland to respond to questions or even respond to mail from strangers, that is an effort in itself.Check out how many people were active on nairaland before getting visas and then quietly ease out once they are here and settled.
There is no entitlement mentality here, people share if they want to.If they do not, abeg do a quick google check. There is nothing you really need you will not make out time for.

I respond to mails when i can make out time because i am busy.

I assumed you have kids so i asked if you had their updated immunization records because that is where you need to start from but you did not respond to that.

Also,i believe its better to share here on this platform than private mails so more people can be informed.

Update his immunization records at a bulk billing clinic first and ensure his medicare details are updated in medicare by the clinic(this takes days and even weeks sometimes).
create a my gov acct
Update his records and this information on centrelink.

then you can apply for family benefits/allowance.the allowances you might be entitled to because you have a kid is
family tax benefit (part a and b)
family tax rebate
rent allowance

it been a while and this much i can remember. There might be changes to part of the process from July 2018 as well.

Even better is if you go to centrelink personally or call their familes line for more clarity.
