There is more money to be stolen as a governor than as a minister these days..

He was voted out before why is he going back again. Does he think Ekiti people are dumps who eat their vomit.
Certainly, there must be a reason why they rejected him at the last polls.

If the man had dignity and self respect having been giving a soft landing by APC as a minister, he would have aspired higher either as a senator or something higher not to go back to a position he was voted out of. This shows he is a mediocre and wants to hide as a governor to continue feeding fat on tax payers funds. The people of Ekiti will help him to terminate his political career once and for all since he thinks Ekiti govt house is his property he can go and come in as he likes. If he thinks he can use APC power of incumbency to rig himself into power that won't work because the people are at 100% alert to protect their vote.

Someone who should know just gave a hint to me that Ayo Fayose and Bola Tinubu have been holding clandestine meetings in Lagos since Fayemi emerged as APC candidate in the Ekiti elections. They also spoke extensively on the phone after Adeyeye defected to APC yesterday...

People who know about the internal workings of both parties claimed that the reason Fayose had been courting Tinubu since the past 2 years is now coming to the fore.

If anyone may recall, Fayose made a special youtube video to celebrate Tinubu's 65th and 66th birthdays resepectively, where he wore a classy Yoruba traditional attire...

Also, he (Fayose) always referred to Tinubu as "our undisputable leader" even as he is the only PDP Governor in the South West and despite that he continued to insult Buhari, who is in the same APC with Tinubu!

Furthermore, owing to the slight and insult heaped on Tinubu by Fayemi (and Fashola) since they became Ministers under Buhari, Tinubu has been waiting to pay them back.

A master political strategist that he is, these same people said that the grand plan was for Tinubu to execute an "anti-party" action and support Fayose's Deputy Governor and PDP candidate, Prof. Olusola and therefore defeat Fayemi after which Prof. Olusola and Fayose may eventually decamp to the APC after their win...

Political intrigues at its best...Watching events unfold in 5D, lol...

It depends on the constitution of the Party. For sure I know that PDP constitution imposes that practice and it is strictly enforced.

I can't say anything about APC which is yet to prove that it is a Party. Even members openly call it a Coalition

Dr. Kayode Fayemi has resigned his appointment as Minister of Mines and Steel Development to concentrate on defeating Kolapo Olusola, Governor Ayo Fayose’s deputy, at the July 14 governorship election in Ekiti State.

Fayemi tendered his resignation letter to President Muhammadu Buhari three weeks ago, but it officially takes effect from Wednesday, May 30.

Fayemi, who will be the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer in the election having won a rescheduled primary of the party on May 12, will be in office today to address a press conference where he will give account of his stewardship in the ministry and finally sign off at 12:00pm.

To become the Ekiti APC candidate, Fayemi polled 941 votes.

The aspirants who came closest were Segun Oni (481 votes), Kayode Ojo (281), Olufemi Richard Bamisile (179), Oluyede Oluwole (121), and Aluko Daniel Olugbenga (86).

Fayose has already boasted that an “electoral disaster” awaits Fayemi in July, saying: “He will suffer the worst defeat of his political career… after the July 14 election, he will go into political oblivion.”

FAYEMI was EYEING to be FOREIGN AFFAIR MINISTER!

But to his shock and pain, Buhari painfully denied him that portfolio and pushing him to Solid Mineral ministry that was quite unattractive to him .

He does not even have knowledge about the solid mineral sector.

Out of frustration and fear of being sacked made him to go back to contest for governor of Ekiti state.

Fayose will give him a fight for his money.

Fayemi will win by a country mile. Fayose has never won any election without federal backing. The 2014 elections remains the most embarrassing to any democratic process in Nigeria.
