He's presently a green card holder and will be getting his citizenship by October this year.
Pls advise on the best approach to go about this.
Ask him how he got his greencard .If its through any other process that's fine but if its through marriage to American citizen ,he has to wait for for some years(3-5 not too sure now)to file the application under USCIS laws cos if he goes ahead they might deny your application based on that and deport you

BJ.... you are indeed a great guy. I got more info i would get in 10 years in just 5 days from your post and i'm very grateful for your help.
A big congratulations to you and Mrs K. God will bless your union forever. As you found her to be different among her peers, you'll never have the cause to regret on marrying her.

Please kindly help me with this:
I'm in my 3rd yr in school, but due to my age (late 20 a lot of things wasted my time, but all is my fault. STORY), i'm considering giving travelling a try again.

However, can you help me choose which of this Caribbean country below would be good for undergraduate low tuition, or transfer,?

Panama
Costa Rica
Cayman islands
Honduras
Venezuela
Guyana
Colombia
Nicaragua
Belize
British Virgin Islands
Saint Vincent
Turks and Caicos Islands
United States virgin Islands
Bahamas
Antigua and Barbuda
Dominica
Saint Kitts and Nevis
Dominican Republic
Grenada
Saint Lucia

I'll like to send a PM to you too if you don't mind.
Thanks and God bless.

Sorry for the late reply ,you know how busy everybody dey for this country. The first step is to decide what field you want the military to train you on i.e how to build houses, repair heavy duty vehicles or machineries etc there are hundreds of jobs they can train you on that can fetch you above 100k after your service (just search them on google and pick the one you like)The free college grant for your school and citizenship are sure bankers before you complete your service. The second step is to write and get good scores on asvab so that you get into your dream field you want the military to train you on.Read a book they call asvab for dummies. It will help you a lot. That exam resemble JAMB but not difficult like it so you will easily smash it.If you get low sores like 30 something the army will still take you but will assign you to a field you may or may not like .Don't allow your recruiter to rush you into taking the exam so that you can prepare well and get good scores and good field. After ASVAB ,your recruiter will drive you to MEPS office in the state capital where there screen you physically and medically for drugs, tattoo, vision and hearing test etc and if you pass they will give you a date for shipping to basic training. Army is very prestigious here as you get respected everywhere you go.If you apply for your parents to come here the visa na sharp sharp cos you're defending the country ,discount in shopping stores&car dealers, best medical care in the world for you and family, loan that can reach 100s of thousand for house, federal credit union loans etc too numerous to mention. You took the right decision to serve this free country which is the greatest democracy in the world. If you have any question, just feel free to pm me

bro, ran into some probs. Recruiter F**ked me up (i really think so). I'm out. I am done trying to join.

My mama prayer about me not going to war was answered grin grin

Bros, i tried and tried.
So, i tested + to TB from a routine check. i was shocked. I did xray and it showed i dont have TB. Dr said i have no worries. Told recruiter i tested + to TB but don't have it (my mistake should i waited till MEPS check up) na there my wahalah start.

PS: i found out a lot of US being from Nigeria most likely will test positive to TB (letent) but do not actually have TB.

Panama (you probably need a US visa)

Costa Rica (not english spealong)

Cayman islands (VERRRYYYY EXPENSIVE!!!!!! good place to vacation though if you live in other caribbean island)

Honduras (not english speaking and poor)

Venezuela ( GOD FORBID!!!!, i reject am for you)

Guyana (hmmm, well, this place is good to finish up school especially Health courses and move on. not different from Nigeria)

Colombia (not english speakin and poor)

Nicaragua ( grin grin grin grin grin)

Belize ( nice country not a bad place. i'd choose it over nigeria)

British Virgin Islands (British territory. good money BUT!!! best for vacation, nothing much to do there plus becoming PR or citizen hard pass anything cos they give you british citizenship)

Saint Vincent (nice place, hard to get to)

Turks and Caicos Islands (same as british virgin island)

United States virgin Islands ( US territory. You need US visa. if you become green card holder or have US visa, you can visit in and out. Expensive place though

Bahamas (hahahaha, funny people acting like they are British. i no blame them. Their immigration will put you on the next place to naija grin grin)

Antigua and Barbuda ( not a bad place, never been there but knew lots of people from there. Hard to get to outside of the caribbean)

Dominica (Every year, na hurricane. their mata taya me, i won't go there for that. heard it is free 60days entry for nigerian passport holders

Saint Kitts and Nevis (not a bad place. nigerians are there. too tiny though. Also good for studying Medicine/Nursing

Dominican Republic (not english speaking plus the probability of people hating you cos you're full black is higher

Grenada (not a bad place, hard to get into outside the caribbean. trust me, Naija ppl dey there

Saint Lucia (they automatically love you for being Nigerian. don't get anyone pregnant though

Where are other caribbean countries? make i analyze

That's what you gotta do. I have licensing exams to write to. Even at that, i still need to work and pay bills and car payments and savings.

So, that degree isn't useless at all (even if na Political Science you study) as long as you can go for post grad studies or evaluate your degree to US equivalent.
@Blowjobs can you shade more light on the BOLDED ?.... If for Msc applicant the requirment for post grad down there is same as the one we have in naija where post grad are ment for those who graduated with anything less than 3.0/5.0 scale i.e 2.0-2.9 Thanks.

Your recruiter is a bum or he may have been influenced by the way trump demonises immigrants. Yes you could have gone to MEPS directly, though they might raise the issue as per new immigrant and you would just have shown them a copy of your uscis form I-6963(report of medical examination) which you submitted the original during your adjustment of status application. That document shows you have received immunization for TB.You can still join the national guard or army reserve with a different recruiter. They have the same benefits as the army and the former does not go to war while the latter rarely rarely do or if you are itching for active duty action ,you can join the navy or airforce as you will not run into the risk of direct combat with these two but avoid marines at all costs. Those guys are specifically trained to kill and overrun enemy lines during battles. Most of them are majorly fresh from high school and do not know much about the importance of human life when they are in battle Lol

I have some questions to ask:

1. If a married man without kid got admission for a masters course in a US school. Can the wife be granted visa too base on marriage ?

2. For someone on study visa planning to get green card by investment. Is it possible to go into investing with student visa?
And what type of investments are allowed, agribiz, real estate, etc. ?

Let me share another motivation with my naija youths here

I cried when we moved 2weeks ago to a new appartment.
I went through some of my old things cos my wife wants us to donate what we don't need. Inside one of my books from naija, í saw the rest of my Alawi from 2013 that I didn'tspend. Then I remembered I got late to the airport due to traffic and airport workers were trying to delay me so I can "Roger" them. I had intended to spend that money on buying credit so I can call my family when I land but didn't have time. I hid it between one of my books so they don't take it from me

l remembers the struggles I went through and I am thankful

Like I said, if there's a job already waiting for you after service I wish you good luck.
If you know you don't have no clear direction for where you life is going with all the efforts you're putting in, while you apply for jobs I will encourage you to also start applying to migrate. You only have one life to live

I can attest to it. Once you leave naija and you have a solid plan, you'd be surprised the pace by which your life will move.
have been a silent reader of all your posts, all are indeed helpful. please I need your guidance concerning what have been hearing. I'm just preparing to go for my msc come spring 2019.

I want to know if it's possible to stay back like change status after my program and start working.

I heard that it is very difficult for a lady to get a permanent resident, how true is this.

Does age matter in getting a F-1 visa for master program? As a lady if you are between 29 and 30, not married yet, can this affect her visa being approved, considering she's aged and not married?
thank you

1. Yes, she as to apply for a F2 visa

2. Yes, I believe you can apply for the EB2 (investment) visa when you're in the US already The minimum investment is $500k and there are other requirements like employing a number of American citizens, etc.

My 2 cents

Between 29 and 30 years old means 29 and half....lol

On a serious note, the only way you could stay back and work (legally) is by either getting a good job offer that comes with a work permit (company sponsored .....mostly, the indians get this...but its quite competitive) or by adjustment of status via marriage (i.e; fall in love, marry...much better that way).

Education is for all ages, but you need to convince the VO that you are indeed going over there to study and not to cross border (yes, its happening a lot and canadians are furious about it).

Goodluck sis.
