Are we going by European science? grin

Do you believe European science to be 100% accurate without question? grin

And what makes you doubt the truthful legends of African ancestral history? grin

Yes I believe science, research and facts.. what’s legends and myths? Any events that happened even if it’s 1million yrs ago there must be evidence and traces of it till today. If there is non then it’s not true.. example is Yoruba history, no evidence of any of their claims so it’s all myths and legends, not true.
Edo on the other hand, you can still see traces of our history among Yoruba people, their culture, monarchies we set up for them, cities we established in their lands..

Even amongst ourselves as Yoruba we argue contentions and evoke truth and facts without feeling a sense of rejection or an outsider.

Just let it go bro.
Don't get caught up in philosophy and religion, no one cares about that stuff when the state of Nigeria is suffering or at a low. The Yorubas in Ibadan are responsible for the independence of Nigeria. Also Yorubas in Ibaban, which is Oyo state, the trend setters for Nigeria, are pushing restructuring of Nigeria to bring more money to local infrastructure development. Those youths in Ife and the otherside that side with the Ooni and Oduduwa nation must support them. I've spoken with some elders about the situation of Oyo/Ife departing Nigeria and becoming its own nation, they say, slow down, things take time. Restructuring Nigeria is the best way to go towards preparing Yorubas, along with other ethnic groups, separate states like Oduduwa Nation. This may not happen in your or my lifetime. Do you realize that? Its high costs to have everything at once. Its best to support structure that is steady going not a racing train wreck. grin Simply good advice, support your brothers and sisters in Oyo. 1. The story of ekaladheran is not told by Omo N'Oba but rather by meanings read into his statement in Ife. So there is no true account of an official statement on ekaladheran. Omo N'Oba made a statement and soon after craftsmen are constructing a story around it.
Answer:
No stories are constructed by the oba ...omo n oba don't lie ..he is a God and whats the use of lies to him...

2. Ekaladheran is son of last Ogiso Ewedo. Records of the list of Ogisos and Obas is kept. Records is kept of Chiefs of Edo. Records is kept of artists of Edo. Record is kept of shrines and deities of Edo. ....but the most important figure in the history of Edo, Prince Ekaladheran had no record until he was discovered in 1982. Yet we are to believe that this guy became King in Ife.
Answers:
No one honnours him in edo he nevered made any remark in edo before leaving lets talk about people who made remark are all documented eg queen idah, queen iden, oba ewuare turned benin into city, adesuwa, oba ogudoduha made the first bank.....izoduwa did nothing he left as a young prince you dont expect benis to make a golden image of him with no impact in edo most of his works was in ife ...which he birthed

3. The fable woven around Ekaladheran exist only in works produced at Edoland. Those who have been in physical contact with Benin have no record of this guy. Why?

Answer's:
And i ask did oduduwa make record in contact of people who came to yoruba lands did the nupes know of him the igalas or the fulanis of the ghanians or dahomey silly thinking of yours

4. The story of Edo will not be complete without witchcraft.

Wicth craft and soccerery in the world had thier place and time all over Europe even in america Christian wiped most of the knowledge out ...benin was the home of sorcery in acient times in nigeria human sacrifices was at his peak you cant say a benin history without it....nor any africa history....

5. A king sent his wife in company of chiefs to go and consult Oracle to see why he was barren?

Hahahahahahaha.... grin grin grin

Where is the joke here i dont get ...ure a king you would do anything to please your wives it was never a big deal as the wife checking as the eyes of the oba in a check an balance system this was also done in oyo kingdom where the alafin sends servants to spy on his baaales and report while the wives spy on the servant and report to the alafin this here just show ur ignorance in history not only in world history including yoruba history where you came from

What happend that the powerful Ogiso could not summon the diviner to his palace? Kings kept diviners in palace. Oracle is part of the instrument of rulership and belonged inside the palace. Till this day kings have oracle in the palace for divination.

Lol...judging in your culture would i say your ideology ..they are many chief priest in the kingdoms ..the story never stated that the chief priest was outside the palace or inside .it stated that the oba wife nd the chief went to meet the chief priest it never state the exact location it could be within the palace or outside.....and of course in different african kingdoms even the European kingdoms the king have to leavd his palace to go meet the chief priest either not to cause uneccesry attention in the palace or it was forbiden for the chief priest to come to the palace
Like in benin and other kingdoms around the world

Anyway which kind of king dispatches woman to go and ask an oracle on his behalf....for anything?
Answers:
Alafins wives serves as his eyes in checking the baales who does that to a Queen...

The genesis of the double-cross is the act of rape.

So she was sexually appealing and the potential existed for her to be raped....yet the wise Ogiso did not see all this...but dispatched her with three men to go across town to a diviner.
Answers:
Who dares rapes a king wife are you nut in your thinking ...all the chiefs will be executed at once to the gods . .an account similar to that happened when a man lust to an oba wife in edo he drew her attention to himself with is powers ..and later killed the oba wife ...the story after then was tragic...

Then a woman already condemned by the oracle acted a double cross that won the chiefs to her side against their king. They defected loyalty from king to the woman oracle decreed should be killed.

These chiefs not only broke their oath of allegiance to the throne, they also acted against the oracle's decree to execute the woman.

One begins to wonder what power this woman had over them that made the chiefs substituted their prince for execution in place of her.

Did she actually allow them to sleep with her to buy their conscience?

This Edo story get k-leg!....

Your thinking has k..leg to believe oduduwa fell from sky....

4. The barren Ogiso was now convinced that by killing the one son he has, the heir to the kingdom, he will bear another child.

Eehhhn. undecided undecided

This king needed his head examined. grin

This is why the oracle and divination is done in palace...so that king will get direct message from the oracle, not through third parties.

Its like someone who already has a property and lived in it with his family but needed more. He sent messenger to ask oracle what to do to own more property. The messenger returned and said burn the property you have now....burn it to ground. This will open opportunity for you to build another one....
Answer :
It has happend in the bible i bet if the Bible wasn't written you would doubt abraham sacrifice of isaac in the bible you would probably say its a lie..

What a dumb person! This is how the story portrays your Ogiso....a dummy!

So did he have another child, after agreeing to kill his son?

Answers:you didnt read the story did you i bet u didnt you should have known ...he didnt so after his death made his chiefs Go in search for his son

In fact after many years and learning the truth he executed the wife and satisfied the decree passed by oracle. Did he have another child?
No he did not! Hence the dispatch to Ife to seek assistance from the race of nation builders.

What a claptrap story. No wonder beside gullible Edo writers no historian from other backgrounds have agreed to write this fiction.

If this was put in Hollywood to be made into movies they will classify it "Works of Fiction" recreated from the imagination of Edo people of Nigeria.

5. So even the executioners were compronised in their duties and allegiance to the king....

7. So this king then gave the order to execute his son. No remorse.

Answers:
Why dogmatic didnt god send his son to die for sinners according to you he should have felt rumores towards it...again didnt god alliw his faithful servant job suffer more worss than a sinner didnt Zeus leave Hercules on earth to face the wraught of His stepmom....

Did he ever ask for his remains so as a prince he could be buried with honors?
Answers:
Sick man that you are....did ekalederan die for honour or punishment....why would you reward a man who you intend to kill for your inability

To this i would conclude by saying edos have an upper hand in realisim to oduduwas history unlike its counterpart Yoruba's in lack of realism ...its is seen that everywhere an edo man steps his leg he enacts a duke in the kingdom starting from ife to kogi to itsekeri etc. it is seen oduduwas describition says he was a man who wore white clothes rounded beed and magical skills just like the typical edo princes... The yorubas will believe on myth rather on realism of the edos due to inferiority complex they call edo brothers but yet when it comes to history they din believe edo birthed them ...what a world

5. So even the executioners were compronised in their duties and allegiance to the king.

6. Then the King banished the heir to his throne. Did it ever occurvto him to consult the oracle again? Did it ever occur to him that by banishing Ekaladheran he had banished the legacy of his ancestors and the succession to his own power? Did it occur to him to consult oracle if there were other sacrifices acceptable beside Ekaladheran?

It sounds like the king had nursed an ambition to get rid of Ekaladheran anyway. The twisted message of the oracle was a wish come true for him....'cause he just played along, no question asked, no reluctance, no second thoughts....

Jeezus!! People abeg come and see Edo history. grin grin

7. So this king then gave the order to execute his son. No remorse.

Did he ever ask for his remains so as a prince he could be buried with honors?

8. Now instead of killing him the chiefs and the executioners sneaked him out of town, alone, with no chiefs to accompany and attend to him.

Did they explain to him the reason for his banishment? What did they tell him....the message from oracle, or their compromise with their mistress, wife to the king?

This is a prince whose father and fathers before him had palace staff that waited and attended to their needs....not the son of a hunter or a farmer. Yet they told him to go away with no staff in company.

How is he going to survive?

Edo has an answer for that. They said he was a magician.

grin grin grin grin

I will leave the magician talk for another time. Lets move on.

8. Now, Ekaladheran began his journey in the wilderness. He came to Ogho (Owo). Nobody in Ogho recognized him. The same Ogho Edo told us is a tributary of Ogiso. Nobody in Ogho know the prince of their King in Edo....but they accomodated him and he lived there sometime.

Check this out... Ogho is tributary and under the Ogiso Kingdom. Not only do they not know who he is, the Chiefs of Owo and King of Owo did not know him either.

Is Ekaladheran mute and deaf? Why couldnt he explain who he was to the King in Owo?

This would debunk the wishful desire in Edo to place Owo as a tributary under Ogiso.

If Owo was under Ogiso Kingdom anyone banished from Edo remains non entity in all territories under the Ogiso domain. So why was Ekaladheran accomodated?

Because Owo was an independent Kingdom, and did not get orders from Edo. In fact they had no record of heir to that throne in Edoland...a mere 70miles away. Astonishing!

9. Anyway, the magician left Owo and wandered on to Uhe (Ife) where the people took him to their Chiefs.

So he told the Chiefs who he was. They jubilated and threw an owambe party. The magician forecasted by their oracle has arrived. At once they installed him as King.

Wait a minute...

So the people of Ife who never had a king before in their history, now all of a sudden know how to install a King.

Ekaladheran could not explain himself to Owo but in Ife his muteness and deafness healed and was able to explain himself.

So how did he communicate with the people of Ife, was there an interpreter?

Anyway he changed his name to Oduduwa so his true identity will be concealed.

10. The Ekaldheran/Oduduwa now is King in Ife and having his own children.

Ogiso Owodo never had another child till his death. Recall the man with a house that would need to burn down the only one he had in order that he could build more. ....the dummy extra-ordinaire!

In short Chiefs of Edo had no knowledge of Ekaladeran's whereabout. But they needed a nation builder an imperial majesty to help stabilize their kingdom. So they sent Chiefs to Ife to beg for a king.

There had to be a pre-knowledge about the capacity of Ife to salvage and rebuild their society otherwise Ife would not have been the kingdom to go source new dynasty.

A great kingdom goes to a superior kingdom for its civilization, not to a lesser one. If indeed Igodomigodo was a great kingdom as we are told, then Ife was a superior kingdom.

Supposedly Ekaladheran had been on the throne in Ife and was still the sitting king when Edo chiefs arrived Ife. So no other kingdom existed in Yorubaland at this time beside the first one established by Ekaladheran.

Then how did Ife gained superiority with a first king, over Igodomigodo with centuries of kings?

Ife must have had a long succession of kings and reputable civilizations for a troubled Igodomigodo to even think of going there for solution to their own challenges. But anyway...

Voila! Edo Chiefs arrived Ife and were taken to see Kibg Oduduwa who then revealed to them he was Ekaladheran.

Wait o....i thought he did not want his identity revealed?

Anyway they asked him to go back with them. He declined and instead sent his grandchild Oranmiyan with Ife Chiefs.

This would mean Oranmiyan returned to the land of his grandfather. Correct?

So what happened in Igodo?

They Edo society continued in their rebellion and disorderliness and witchcraft.

Oranmiyan came from a civilized society with order and rule of conduct in society. The situation in Edo was strange. He renamed the land Ile Ibinu (now known as Bini).
He had a son with an Edo woman.

He left the Ife Chiefs that came with him behind to coronate the son as the King, he returned to Ife.

It became clear the Edos will not accept this foreign blood as king over them.

Edo chiefs fabricated a new story around a legend Ekaladheran and tied Oranmiyan and his son to it. Oranmiyan was positioned as child of Ekaladheran. On hearing this the society was pacified and submitted to Eweka.

This fable had been passed down from generation to generation of Edos. It remained unwritten and in background until 1982 when Oba Erediauwa said Ife is our son too.

Not bothering to clarify Edos threw their century long hoax out there and fed it to press and put it online and even wrote books on the hoax.

Yorubas also did damage to their own cause by not critically analysing the hoax....and question loopholes and intrigues in the concoction., beginning with a distant to oracle, the dispatch of a Queen to seek oracle on king's behalf, the act or allegation of rape, the double-cross of allegiance, the play-along king that had no questions, the prince that lacked knowledge and authority, his banishment, his discovery by a people that rejoiced and partied when he showed up in their midst, his coronation as their king even though they had no clue what a king was, the request from igodomigodo to the superior Ife, the revelation of a hidden ekaladheran, the Oranmiyan dynasty, the turbulence of Edo and its renaming, the fabrication of a hoax and its attachment to the foreigner, the pacification of an uncivilized society, the reawakening of the hoax in 1982 centuries after the fiction was first adopted on Edoland.

So did Oba Erediauwa say wrong with his statement?

Is Alaafin and Ooni not sons, one to the other? Of course they are! Oranmiyan sired children on both thrones. It would be accurate to say so between Oyo and Ife. Same relational link exist between Benin and Ife and Benin and Oyo.

So Oba Erediauwa said Ife is also son to Benin. His title is Omo N'Oba N'Edo...and not Omo N'Edo, nor Omo N'Ogiso or Omo N'Igodo.

Meanwhile the title in Ife is Ooni Adimula.

Adimula is the first creation in primordial, Ooni descended from that dynasty.

The title in Benin is Omo N'Oba.

Oba is Yoruba Kings. Omo N'Oba descended from that dynasty.

Oranmiyan returned to Ife and became Ooni after establishing Benin. His descendants in Ife and descendants in Benin are sons to each other.

This is what Erediauwa meant but failed to clarify on his visit in 1982 before fabricators in Edo rushed to impose a similar hoax fabricated centuries earlier as explanation for the king's one line statement.

Anybody with half a brain know the recent hoax about elkhadaren or izoduwa or imaoduwa is fake they can’t even settle on a name

u said obatala was beheaded show us where u read that stop deflecting. “I don talk my own” so u admitted it’s ur own made up story
See ur level of reasoning.. becos I said I don talk my own so that means I made up the story? so shud I conclude that becos you focusing on the “beheading” does that mean U agree Oduduwa killed Obalata?
If he killed Obalata then how did he do it? Did he stab him or set him on fire?
Do u know that in those days the common way of execution was by beheading.. and Oduduwa being an Edo man will surely behead his enemy Obalata..

Now besides that, historical accounts shows that a good number of Yoruba rulers were beheaded by Benin Kingdom during the time Benin Kingdom was colonizing parts of Yoruba lands.. any ruler who opposed Benin was defeated and beheaded..
Akure Deji was beheaded, Ewi beheaded, ruler in Ado beheaded, Owo ruler was beaded and so was many others. But no historical accounts or even Yoruba myths and legends ever mentions any Edo ruler beheaded by Yoruba..

So tell me, who was greater? The beheader or the beheaded?

my guy shut up Benin king head was buried in ife in the orun oba ado not the other way around. A Yoruba man statue was found in ur oba palace coz ur king was worshipping his father. Ur oba is a Yoruba descendant of oramiyan. Even ur oba tell the Portuguese that he owes a spiritual allegiance to ife. Benin came on their knee to ife to beg for king ife never went to Benin. Benin was a small village that could not even stamp his authority anywhere. European gave Yoruba gun not one small Benin who were still fighting primitive with cutlass and infantry. U guys never even had cavalry. Just forget it yoruba was ur boss in the past and still today. In fact Yoruba rule over u so much that u had to cry for the fg to help u create ur own mid western region so that u will not die as yoruba slaves. But u can not escape Yoruba domination u still bear our name worship our gods and even ur omo n oba na Yoruba descendant I know the truth hurts but accept it benin na yoruba boy end of story. I know within u, u are mad at ur ancestors for giving Edo chance to lay claim on Yoruba.. and more painful is the fact that our claims are true.

It’s even shameful for Yoruba that you couldn’t even free yourselves from Benin it was the British that freed you. You guys were too weak to fight mighty Benin Kingdom.

Difference btw ur claims and mine is that mine are true with evidence still existing till today but urs are just anguish of a pained and frustrated Yoruba man..
history had judged the Edo people to be warriors and conquerors, and Yoruba being one of the race Edo conquered and subjugated..

History written and said by British said that oyo ruled over Benin so Benin was one of the people conquered by Yoruba oramiyan in particular started it then other Yoruba took their turn on edo and the evidence still stands till today with Yoruba language name and culture and gods in Benin land. U bear and worship our god just like African bear and worship European gods

Oyo was dead and decayed when British came so how can they say Oyo ruler over Benin? The British never saw Oyo empire, they only saw Oyo’s grave and ruins..
I like torturing you but ur foolishness amazes me..

is that the evidence u want to provide. Let me show u the letter written by the governor of Lagos. He said according to the information given by the lander in 1830 and as 1830 when the information was given oyo was still standing. And hey man u are torturing yourself and nobody could ever be as foolish at u with the ridiculous things u say but i already promise u if u go low am ready to go lower. The fun is just beginning.

Funny lad you are.So you Yoruba K'OYA? Anyway, kudos for your interest in all these. And like Babaramata1980 had informed you, each Yoruba person you find on here definitely showcase individualism with creativity, when such person inform and does not necessarily mean absurd bitterness but to set the record straight, for people who might stumble on any of these thread in the future. This is the reason we all strive to inform via research and oral information passed down. Even you as a person, kept blundering because you do not know much but hung your appraisal only on Oyo . What you know and acknowledged as power of Shango, which is thunder had existed before Shango lived . In fact, before Oranmiyan was even born , Àra-mfe (IFE's thunder's orisa / god) had being in existence, so you need read more and learn more ,because this is absolutely incoherent with the truth. To buttress more on it, there are Yorubas that can trap Shango's most potent( thunder) power without it hurting anyone . Outside, this, Shango is not worshipped in all yoruba enclave because,he was acknowledged as a descendant of Oranmiyan , a king in Oyo, for his charms( Herbology) prowess and developing the Oyo's military might . Lastly ,there are many groups that have been championing Yoruba course for a long time and result will definitely creep up soon. And cohesion will definitely take place at the right time.

Mugu read what your British masters actually say they saw..

“By the time Captain Hugh Clapperton visited Oyo-Ile in 1825 during the reign of Alaafin Majotu, the empire was already in a state of decline. Clapperton's party recorded passing numerous Oyo villages burned by the Fulani (Ilorin) while Majotu had also sought the help of the English king and the Oba of Benin in putting down the Ilorin rebellion. Clapperton also noticed a shortage of horses, even though the Oyo were renowned as a great cavalry force; this might have something to do with the fact that most of the empire's soldiers and hence cavalry were stationed at Ilorin under the command of Afonja and later on Alimi's successors.[47]

Ilorin then besieged Offa and started raiding, burning and pillaging villages in Oyo, eventually destroying the capital Oyo-Ile in 1835.”

You see even at that time Benin Kingdom was the most powerful that even your dying Oyo was begging Benin military for help..
You can keep bring what the British said they were told and I will be bringing what they said they saw..
