Bigsunny01: It is belittle of OONIRISA to visit Oba of Benin in Palace, instead Oba of Benin will visit Ooni of ife in ife palace or anytime Ooni of ife visit Benin. Oba of Benin have to leave palace to welcome him. That is reason when Ooni of ife visited Benin on 2 occasion to Esama Palace as part of history which we know that Esama Palace is where Oranmiyan was welcome and used as his palace during his tenure as OBA of Benin. So he visit Edo Governor twice without blink on Oba of Benin palace. It is other way around. Oba of Benin will leave palace to welcome Ooni of ife to Benin not doing so. Ooni of ife will ignore his existence even when in Benin. |

Sewgon79:1) yoruba love lies like fat people love food 2) The Ezama title is not that of a king, it is that of a chief. 3) It is the Oba of Benin who bestows the Ezama title on whomever he wishes. 4) the Ezama of Benin doesn't have a palace, what you keep calling his "palace" is just his personal family house ! When he dies, that house will remain with his son whereas the Oba of Benin will give the Ezama title to someone else whom the Oba judges to be worthy. 5) your Oni was present at the coronation of the Oba of Benin, the Oba of Benin never went to the coronation of the Oni, that should tell you whom is who 6) oduduwa and oranmiyan are fairytales, they were made up by revisionists, they never existed. 7) The Ezama of Benin gets summoned to the palace by the Oba of Benin when the Oba of Benin wants to see him, whereas your Oni of Ife goes to the house of the Ezama of Benin when he wants to see him, this also should tell you whom is who. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Truthvalue41: Ooni of ife went to your Oba Coronation because there is some traditional ritual for your Oba before he become Oba of Benin. Meanwhile, History has always says that the Esama family were where Oranmiyan first landed in Benin before he become your First Benin King. Why can't you ask yourself this question, which kings dere come to Benin without visiting Oba of Benin in Palace. It is only OONI OF IFE that can go to Benin and walk anywhere without your king blink. For your information, when Ooni of Ife was coronated as Oba, Benin Stool was still vacant without no king. Check your history and date very well. Ooni of ife was made King 2016. And benin have not yet coronated your king. If not your Oba of Benin will crawl coming to pay homage as he later pay homage after his father grace his coronation to say thank you. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://guardian.ng/sunday-magazine/oba-of-benin-visits-ooni-of-ife/&ved=2ahUKEwjM1K3qzab0AhVQfMAKHYfpCWAQFnoECDYQAQ&usg=AOvVaw0OJ8CeoB5GgaPL4DLwHVwz |

Sewgon79:You are quite deluded and you confuse your hallucinations with history. I have already told you oranmiyan wasn't real. Also there is no such thing as Ezama family, the Ezama title is not hereditary, the Oba of Benin could give it to me if he wanted. The thing is you yoruba have based your whole world view on lies, you want to hijack Benin glory so much that you try to rewrite Benin history, but you actually know nothing about Benin. 3 Likes |

Sewgon79:Actually, the Oba of Benin's father is Oba Erediawa II, and Oba Erediawa II was on the Benin throne when your ooni was coronated, it is after the passing of Oba Erediawa II that his son, Oba Ewuare II, became the Oba of Benin. As I said earlier, you know next to nothing about Benin. The father of your Oni of Ife was never a king and he is actually still alive. Your ooni borrowed the title "Oba" whereas the Oba didn't borrow the title "ooni". 2 Likes 1 Share |

Sewgon79:Actually anybody in Nigeria can go to any kingdom without visiting the king of the kingdom, indeed Nigeria is a democracy. It is protocol for kings to visit each other when they are in the domain of one an other. The problem with your Oni of Ife is that he doesn't want to expose the yoruba false claim of "owning Benin", indeed if your Oni of Ife went to the palace of the Oba of Benin, he wouldn't be granted any special status (he would be received like any other monarch) which would contradict this fantasy which the yoruba have built around Ife. So instead your Oni visits a subject of the Oba (the one and only true Oba, Benin is thy name). That is cowardice right there. But again, cowardice is a yoruba tradition. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Truthvalue41: Oranmiyan: The real reason behind Oba of Benin’s recent visit to Ile Ife Ile Ife is the ancestral home of all Oduduwa descendants, mostly Yoruba and Benin people inclusive, that has been a known fact. The recent visit of Oba of Benin just gave it more credence as the Binis have a common heritage with the Yorubas in Oranmiyan whose groove lies in Ile Ife. Omo N’oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo Oba Ewuare II, the Oba of Benin recently travelled to Ile Ife where he visited the Ooni of Ife on Saturday, April 28. Before this historical visit, the last time an Oba from Benin visited the Ooni was 36 years ago. According to a popular saying in Benin kingdom: “Oba no dey go transfer,” which simply means that Oba of Benin rarely leaves his palace where he sees to the day-to-day running of his kingdom. That is why Benin monarchs hardly go around. 2018 visit to Ile Ife, went to the Oranmiyan groove and learnt that there is more to the Oba of Benin’s visit to the ancient city. It was gathered that the Oba of Benin actually went to collect a particular sword which all kings of Oranmiyan descent come to Ile Ife to collect. It is called the sword of victory and every king who is a descendant of Oranmiyan must come to the groove to collect the sword. It was also learnt that while being given the sword, the king visiting will be prayed for that any war he wages he will conquer unless he decide to wage war against Ile Ife then he will lose the war. This is because no son is expected to wage war against his father. Also gathered that while coming to the groove to collect the sacred sword, any king coming must change from the regalia he is adorned with to a specially prepared outfit before he can step his feet into the Oranmiyan groove for prayers and collection of the sword. This particular ritual was alleged to be one of the reasons the Oba of Benin went to Ile Ife and also seized the opportunity to visit the Ooni of Ife who was present during his coronation in Benin. During the historical visit, Ooni, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II, and the Oba of Benin confirmed the common inheritance the two ancient cities have in Oranmiyan, the last son of Oduduwa who was said to have migrated from Ile Ife to become the first Oba of Benin. Oduduwa was also said to be the first Ooni of Ife. On leaving Benin back to Ile Ife, Oranmiyan was said to have installed his son as the king of Benin thus the title Omo N’oba which when translated means the son of the king. The Ooni was quoted to have said during the historic visit that: “Those of you that know the history know that the then Oliha came to Ife to ask that Oranmiyan be brought to Benin. There are details in history books. I am cutting out the details. It’s all in the history books and you can research that. He (the then Oliha) was the one that successfully won the right to escort Oranmiyan to Benin to become the first Oba of Benin.” May all Oranmiyan's descendants continue to live in harmony. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VpAJBurItY |

Yoruba and science fiction. You guys lie too much, it is like the yoruba national sport. 1) oranmiyan and oduduwa never existed. 2) the Oba of Benin didn't go to Ife for any ritual nor to collect any sword, he went there for the same reason he visited the emir of Kano and the sultan of Sokoto and the Olu of warri and Edo north. But of course only the low self esteem people of the southwest are trying to make science fiction out of an innocent visit. This is one of the reasons the Oba of Benin will never visit the Oni of Ifa again, and this is the reason the Oni of Ifa is afraid to visit the Obs of Benin, he believes he might be forced to eat his lies. 3)You still have mouth to talk after I exposed your lies about the Ezama... Champion of lies. Sewgon79: 3 Likes 1 Share |

Sewgon79:First there is nothing like an Esama family as it is not hereditary. 2. Usama is a palace not a family. 3. Esama is different from Usama, Esama is a title that was created by Oba Ewedo long after Oranmiyan died, Oba Ewedo is about the Fourth or fifth in line if I am not mistaken. UGBE634: The Yoruba people of Nigeria have a rich and diverse history, with many legends and myths passed down through generations. The purpose of mythology is to serve as a compass to each generation and create a unique identity. One of the most popular stories is that of Oduduwa, the progenitor of the Yoruba people. They didn't say the creator of Human or Yoruba people. In Yoruba myth of creation Obatala is the creator of Human being through the power of Olodumare(Obatala didn't do a good job in human creation and that's the reason why humanity is not perfect.) However, in recent years, there has been a debate over where Oduduwa came from, with some Bini suggesting that he is definitely came from Benin. They said he was Izodudwa.. The whole "where Oduduwa came from is politically and religiously motivated. In this post, we will explore why Oduduwa could not have come from Benin. The purpose of this post isn't to belittle great Benin history neither I am of the opinion that Benin are related with the Yorubas. They believe they are not related to Yoruba, and we must respect that. Firstly, it is important to note that the idea that Oduduwa was a Benin prince is a relatively new narrative, less than 70 years old. There is no record both audio or written where the Benin linked Izodudwa to Oodua. When the Oba of Bini was attending Yoruba Oba council meeting in 1937 and years after. I don't think Oba of Bini believes Izodudwa was Oodua during those times. The traditional narratives that most Yoruba people hold to be important do not suggest that Oduduwa came from Benin. Some suggest that he came from the East therefore he is from Benin. However, Benin is located to the southwest of Ile-ife, not East, and neither are Sudan or Mecca. So, where did Oduduwa come from? It is likely that Oduduwa(Name) is an appellation, rather than a historical figure. This isn't a rare occurrences .Ajaka Alaafin of Oyo was called "Sango".. we need to separate Orisa Oduduwa from historical Oduduwa. The name "Oduduwa" is written and pronounced as "Oodua" in Yoruba ife dialect. Even in Yoruba dictionary of 1852, written as 'ODUA , ODUDUA" When we look at the tradition, it does not say that Oduduwa was from Mecca or Benin. To get an idea of where he came from, we can do a bit of oral analysis. Ife, which is where Oduduwa is said to have founded the Yoruba people, was divided into many kindoms. Iremo, Oranfe, and others are examples of the ancient kingdoms of Ife. It is likely that Oduduwa came from Oranfe kingdom. In the ile-ife anthem, one phrase sings "Oranfe onile ina, Oodua awerinrinjagun". This suggests that Oduduwa came from Oranfe, which is located in Oke Ora. Tradition tells us that Oke Ora is where Oduduwa came down with chain. Oke in Yoruba means Hill top and yes Oke Ora is more hillious . Its more likely that Oodua belongs to the people of hill, fought a battle to unity the kingdoms of Ile-ife.(Oranfe onile ina, Oodua awerinrinjagun". ) It is also worth noting that in Yoruba tradition, names often reflect the circumstances of a person's birth or events surrounding their life. In conclusion, there is no evidence to suggest that Oduduwa came from Benin. The idea that he was a Benin prince is a relatively new narrative that does not appear in traditional Yoruba narratives. Whoever going to make such claims must provide evidence beyond reasonable doubt than just "Changjng "O" into "I" and "" into "Z" making it "Izoduwa".The burden of Proofs is with the claimant. According to the Benin, Izoduwa meaning is 'I have chosen the path of prosperity' Yoruba meaning of Oodua literally "The great repository which brings forth existence" In conclusion, there is no evidence to suggest that Oduduwa came from Benin. The idea that he was a Benin prince is a relatively new narrative that does not appear in traditional Yoruba narratives. Instead, it is likely that Oduduwa came from Oranfe, which is located in Ile-ife. The debate over where Oduduwa came from highlights the importance of understanding the nuances of oral tradition and the role that appellation can play in shaping historical narratives. 9news Nigeria 9news Nigeria public interest https://www.facebook.com/239724326376914/posts/pfbid0hnj7qstQJELVXxFo7k3Mw8pa1RTqisY3uiEFeASV8gerEcpzcoKrgTEq4pDoQLk8l/ |
