In every political voting pattern since after the war Edo votes behind Yoruba. Till today whatever Yoruba vote, Edo follows behind.

There is a history behind that. Its what wise people call "lessons learnt".

What is the lesson?

The colonials recognized that Yoruba was a Supreme race to Edo. In their study, every race of people on the East of Yorubaland all way to the banks of Niger told their history and claimed Ife as their beginning, whether they made a stop-over in Benin or not before their current abode. So they were all put under Western Regional Government.

Edos have a streak for rebellion. This genetic is borne out of their love for chaos. We saw same thing in the analysis of ekaladheran that I gave two pages ago....where his Ogiso monster father condemned him to death, after the Ogiso's queen had used poussy to compromise the chiefs to disobey their king and the oracle of their land. I'm a student of the University of Benin and majority of my colleagues are Akoko Edos and bear Yoruba names like Idowu, Akintola etc even their dressings are Yoruba costumes and sees themselves as Yoruboids

I am yet to see a Yoruba that does not recognize Benin as one of the Ife trajectory dynasties, alongside Orangun, Onipopo, Onisabe, Alaketu, Olowu, Owa, Oranmiyan (Benin and Oyo).

My question still remains, Why will Igodomigodo go to Ife to ask for a Prince to become their king if they shared nothing in common and reject their own Ogiame for a total stranger, and then do so much to ensure that the stranger and his descendants succeded, don't forget that it was not till the 4th generation of kings from Oba Eweka 1 and during the reigns of Oba Ewedo were the Ogiame defeated, Oranmiyan could only take the heat of Igodomigodo for 3 months before he left in anger to Oyo. True talk.. I was expecting the Yorubas to be like the Igbos who accepts the past the way it is and promotes and touts their present, and work for a better future.. but they choose to distort the past for reasons I still cannot understand. Is it shame or pride? I do not know.
