I have been watching Oviecardealer thread here on nairaland over the years from a distance and i have been contemplating doing business with him.

Well the money came in early this year and in february,i deceided to give him a try.

After several discusions with him on the phone,we met one on one in lagos,entered into an agreement and hit the way to Cotonou.

Come see sea of cars....i was even confused.

But this oviecardealer guy is the real deal....he helped me pick my choice.

last last i we paid for my SUV and i returned back to lagos to wait for the delivery of my stuff.

I have to delay his service charge payment this he delivered the SUV to me with FULL customs papers.

I'm curious, did the customs papers indicate that the vehicle was cleared via the land borders or via tin can?

Let's say the truth as it is and not sugar-coat it with niceties.

That SUV was bought into Cotonou and smuggled into Nigeria. Subsequently, there was false declaration made to the Nigerian Customs and some unscrupulous customs officers added the vehicle particulars to their database in Tincan. Hence the papers you have.

Sewell is in Fort Worth, Texas. If the Customs guys asks you to show shipping documents from Texas to Nigeria, you'll have problems cos if you dare present forged documents, na wahala.

Smuggling is a criminal offence, false declaration is an offence, forgery is an offence.

Exposing this thing online is not a smart move by the OP and the dealer.

One look at the thread in the link I posted and the nature of the transaction would be obvious.

From all appearances the manoeuvre by the 'importer' bypassed existing laws and rules.

Both the 'importer' and the buyer seem to have assumed a Machiavellian stance that the end justifies the doer, and that as long as the customs documents appear to be valid, then everything is alright.

Well, to quote the acclaimed 'importer' and agent's response when asked to explain how he managed to procure such documents despite the clear prohibition,
