A man has raised an alarm following the unhygienic condition where slaughtered and smoked goats are washed in Lagos. According to Twitter user Adebayo Dawodu, the goats are washed in a filthy water around Oke-Ira, Ado road where residents defecate - with faeces floating in same water as he urged Lagosians to be careful where they buy their goat meat from or eat around the area.

Happens in almost all abattoirs. Which is why we should always wash and cook meats properly before consumption.

Happen in almost all slaughter house datz y it's advisable 2 use salt to wash meat and make sure u boil it well

Reason I have backyard farm to produce protein my family consumes. It is all over the country. Lagos state made a law banning slaughter of livestock except at Agege but they are not enforcing the law

Don't we have regulatory body(bodies)in charge of abattoir activities? Shame on government. They have really failed the common man. We are indeed on our own.
