Reasons!

I've still got my PHAT PS2 and it's working fine.

As for how good it is, the PS2 was a beast in it's own right. It had a large library of games, was easily customized(exploited), although graphically it wasn't that great, save for some titles.
All in all, i'd say 9/10

PS2, hype? How? Huge sales numbers are enough to tell one it was the real deal. I had one. It served me very well, almost eight years or so till my greedy girlfriend loaned and never brought it back. I will buy a new one in a heartbeat if I can get games on the cheap.
