According to reports, this is one of the two victims who survived the fatal accident that claimed 8 lives at the Benin- Lagos express road two days ago. The accident killed eight indigenes of Edo state (five males and three females) who arrived from Spain for a traditional marriage after a Hummer bus conveying them rammed into a Mack truck.

The driver of the speeding hummer bus rammed into the rear of a truck marked MUS 730 XN in an attempt to overtake it.

Seven of the victims were reported to have died at the accident scene while one other died later.

Their remains were deposited at the morgue of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu where two others rescued alive, were also receiving treatment.

You asked why do accidents occur if their is anything like grace. Do you know that there is a thing like natural laws.
A natural law stipulates that wen u stab yourself or someone, he will bleed, feel the pain and may die.
If you are walking on a rocky terrain, u need to mind ur feet or else u hit them on rock.
If you are hungry, you should eat something else u will be weak.
If you build ur house on a weak foundation, it may collapse one day.
These are some of the applications of natural laws.

Now, there is another side that is referred to as Divine intervention. It may also be referred to as Miracle.
Naturally, if a bullet passes through one's heart, it is expected that the victim should die. We have seen such a situation and at last the victim comes out clean and stronger. That is Divine intervention.

Let me tell u a story. My elder sister back den in her primary school went into a bush with her direct younger sis to get broom. She was about 11yrs den. Unfortunately, she stepped on a zinc not knowing it was used to cover a 46feet abandoned well half filled with mud and water. She sank and her sister waited for her to float. After a long wait and she did not float, she ran back to the house to inform our dad. Dad ran to the scene, peeped into the well, behold she was not there. Shortly, my sister float. Standing erect. My dad made to jump, thinking that she was standing on the base of the well. My sister shouted, "Dad pls don't jump in, my feet are not touching the ground." My dad had to ran back into the community, with the help of some ppl, they secured a ladder and went back to that well and my sister was still afloat. The ladder was descended for her which she held onto and she was pulled out.

What do u call this? Mere luck? What gave my sister the wisdom of stopping my dad from jumping into that 46feet well in a bid to rescue her? Mere luck? If my dad had jumped in, we may even lose both of them. They are lucky...right?
Whose hands held her for all the period they went back to the community searching for a long ladder? Mere luck?

Then your next question will be. Why do God allow some to die if actually He is powerful. Let me ask you. Why do God allow your hands to be burnt wen u insert them into fire? God does not encourage carelessness. If God keep saving every of our mistakes, carelessness or shortfalls, we may not learn or become better persons.

Why do u flog your lovely child. You could have continue doing those things he did wrong for him to prove that u love him. When house collapse and kill ppl, others will learn to build more reinforced houses. When wind destroy strong houses, ppl will learn to preserve our trees that act as wind breaker to forestall the menace of deforestation. When God allows severe heat from sun radiation to hit human, they will try to find a better and alternative technology to preserve our ozone layer.
If God in His infinite mercy keep saving humans all the time they messed up, this earth will one day collapse.

Finally, I am not compelling you to believe in Divine intervention, but I beliv one day, wen u find yourself in a certain situation, you will surprisingly see yourself saying..."Truly, there is God."
