GEJ's appointment preceded Abacha i.e. he was appointed on March 1993 by Shonekan and he served the OMPADEC as an Assistant Director in the Directorate of Environmental Protection and Pollution Control. He was in charge of the Environmental Protection Sub-Department of the Commission. He performed creditably in that capacity, until he voluntarily left the service of the Commission in 1998. His appointment wasn't political,but a secondment so why do you expect a GL14 officer to resign?
