Am currently doing my M.Sc in Department of Chemistry. These are my humble advice
please try and get the past questions and other materials, it will help you alot.
if you are working you can't do full time masters in UI, dont veven apply, you might regret it. just apply for part time.
Try and find out some information about your department before applying. Don't apply for professional Masters when you don't even know the meaning.
thanks I think I still have some material, am ready to help. you can also visit 2017/2018 discussion tread, you will learn more.

I repeat, there is no such thing as PAST question paper especially for the computer-based English Proficiency Test (EPT). But, I know thousands of "JJCs" will still join the bandwagon. Kindly practice the Sample Questions that will be sent to your online application dashboard after one has purchased the form. Practice it, very few questions may come from it. Above all, read ALL the Requirements/rules CAREFULLY before applying into the course and type of programme you wish to run. There is a big difference between Professional Masters and Academic Masters programme: one CANNOT run a PhD nor lecture with a Professional Masters degree!

Those who intend to apply into the departments of Political Science and Sociology specifically for M.Sc may contact me here for details, assistance in registration e.t.c. Am a 2017/18 student.

Could this be due to the tight schedule of academic work or is there like a law against working and doing full time masters?

What area in Sociology do you want to specialize in your M.Sc (eg. Development; Criminology; Industrial; or Medical Sociology)? Read the Admission Guideline properly: http://pgsui.com/application/CURRENT%20ADMISSION%20GUIDE%2018.pdf

in my department is like law, because you must have at least 75% attendance before you can write exams. we have classes from 8am to 5pm Everyday. but most departments are less stressful anyway

Criminology and Penology
It is a very competitive sub-discipline in Sociology, one has to score at least 50% and above especially if one did not make a First-class or Second-class Upper honours at the undergraduate level. They usually admit few applicants every year. You may Google the names of criminology lecturers like Dr. Oludayo Tade, Prof. Aderinto, Dr. Okunola, Dr. Ojedokun e.t.c, to have a little view. They are VERY strict, intelligent, and largely self-disciplined. In fact, "sorting" in Criminology especially with the aforementioned lecturers is a NO NO - it cannot work. I hope you got what it takes to suceed: to STUDY and be SERIOUS-minded.

Am one of the lucky selected few out of thousands of applicants that got admitted; we are NOT up to 22 students that were admitted into Criminology in the 2017/18 session despite over 400 of us applied last year. Still, some persons in my set want to change to other areas like Industrial Sociology, and Medical Sociology which have the LARGEST number of M.Sc students in recent years. Two or more students are also seeking to change from their specializations and come join us in Criminology, but I laugh them because they do not really know what is here. We no dey play or pamper for Criminology oh! Lateness to class is highly forbidden; Dr. Tade in particular would send you out NO MATTER who/what you are even if one came 30 seconds after he has entered that class - and that means one has missed the course for a week since we have each M.Sc course ONCE per week in all specializations.

All the same, Criminology specifically and Sociology in general, is a very interesting and broad discipline that it is now the "envy" of many. Medical, Law, Science, Mass Communication, and Business/Public Administration graduates e.t.c, are running down to study Sociology at the M.Sc and even PhD levels. I wish you and others the best. Check your mail and contact me.
