First it was Boko Haram, ravaging the North East of Nigeria.
Later herdsmen killing in Benue and Taraba and it has now spread to Plateau.
Please when will all these killings stop; the blood of innocents may be railing curses upon our land.
Herdsmen killings actually started in Plateau years ago

I dont know why everything is rocket science in Nigeria. All the time I spent in the States, I never for once saw one cow on the street let alone on major roads. I am in Switz and the only time I saw fat and healthy looking cows was while ascending a mountain. They were in a ranch.
Even Ghana and Cameroun that borders us. I never saw one cow on the street.
Why is this a herculean task to solve. Why cant the National Assembly pass a law or even the Presidency put forth an Executive Order that anyone into cattle rearing must get a ranch for their cows. Why must it take lives? What is all this?
No cow should be seen loitering.
I am tired.

The killings in middle belt will stop if we middle belters stop being cowards. We must rise up and join forces with friends to fight for freedom. Nigeria is a devilish union that was never meant to be.
I like that word devilish.

It can never cease until Nigeria is reorganised...how can this happen,by taking away guns and ammunition from all security forces, incessant investigation in every borders between the country, declaring state of emergency in all the affected states.

The killing is get out of hand and I will enjoin the youths of the affected state to defend them first to disrupt the objection of this gruesome killings in their area.

In every destruction there is a reason..So, let us tackle the reason and let go of trabalistic sentiment.

It's Jihadist
It's Buhari
It's Bokoharam
It's state governor
It's herders v farmers age old conflict in the middle belt
It's herders v farmers conflict caused by climate change
It's Libyans
Its to do with approaching election
Its this, it's that
It's IPOB.

Agwu! Why don't you people admit you have no idea what's going on and demand answers? For Christ/Allah/Forefathers sake organise the mother of all National protest and demand end to killings. A protest big enough so that it attracts international attention is one capable of bringing down the government. However I suspect that those shouting loudest about the killings and doing nothing are the ones that don't really want government change, they want a broken up Nigeria and my own addition to the guess work is that the answer to the killings probably lies here.

stopped? No.

contained? only for a while.

numerous sociocultural, geographical & historical factors are at play.

in a nutshell:

1. the people up north share similar cultures & beliefs & religion plays a key role in everyday life. Islam by its nature is a religion that seeks not only convert new followers, but to expand its frontiers by any means necessary.

2. Nigeria is located very close to the volatile sahel region. in fact, parts of the north are located within this region which has vast ungoverned spaces. it is therefore inevitable that as long as conflicts continue in the sahel, Nigeria will remain at risk...

3. historically, various tribes up north down to the middle belt have been at logger heads. its not changing anytime soon...

4. leadership... criminals & other never do wells can sense weak or compromised leadership... once that is noticed, the will pounce.
good analysis. But let me ask u. Must Nigeria remain one? Are we not too different to pursue a united purpose?

We are too large and diverse. Cant we break Nigeria into similar ethnicities and share the oil in the Atlantic according to landmass and population. Let ppl take their share and forge their future alone

President Buhari visited and sympathize with Bauchi people last week because of damages caused by rain storm. Tomorrow he will be in Cross River State. LET'S KEEP EYES ON HIM IF HE WILL VISIT PLATEAU OR NOT.
If I were him, I would just cancelled tomorrow visit to cross River State.

Killings stop? I thought you Nigerians said the real issue and terrorist are unarmed IPOB who killed nobody?

The killings have to continue so that you Nigerians can finally understand why Nnamdi Kanu wanted his people out of Nigeria.

By the time the Herdsmen have finished with you Nigerians, you will see the light
The only reason IPOB terrorists Don't kill is not due to a lack of intent but a lack of means. They are terrorists who if they had their way, will destroy our beloved country

Re: Will The Killings Ever Stop? by Litmus: 7:00pm On Jun 25, 2018
You all don't know what's going on so better assume nothing not even that northern population will not join in National protest demanding end to killings or resignation of president. Those with scope to organize national protests should go ahead and canvas support, fearing nothing, you all may be surprised that there is universal national support. I have nothing against Buhari except his failure in national security. It's not enough to say there was no National security under Johnathan. Nigeria can't carry on in that primitive manner.

And you should never be greatful to politicians, they are not your parents, they are public servants. No matter how great they were, or what good they did, you kick em out of office if they stop succeeding.

If you blame it on cattle rearers which majority are Fulani indigent then the life of other minor tribe rearing cows in Nigeria is also at risk.

Though you make a good point, but the question is the guns used to terrorized the armless citizens is gotten or given to them by whom.......pontential somebody is behind these menace.

The cattlemen I know when I left Nigeria are good and polite but from the time President buhari was emerged the president it looks like anything tragedy that take place in this country is complicit on him because he's a Fulani..all this tantrums I see it as trabalistic sentiments.

In Goodluck Jonathan tenure we also witness this unfortunate stories but it was not intense like this.

The political parties in Nigeria has a role to play in this killings.. Our politicians can do anything to get into power.

All these killing is arranged by opposition parties... Let find the reason and stop being sentimental.

if Nigeria must break up, let us hope it does so peacefully... & with clear demarcations.

a forceful break up will turn Nigeria into a war zone... like the horn of Africa which has been in a constant state of flux for almost 40 years... I don't think we want that...

That sort of mentality is incredible. Those that are currently destroying your country, such as the killer Herdsmen, by murdering people, sacking communities, driving thousands to IDP camps are just criminals

But IPOB that are not armed, not killing people, not driving anyone into IDP, are terrorists because they may one day do what the Herdsmen are already doing?

The shocking thing is that you Nigerians actually hope to build a great nation with such daft mentality

They are all terrorists because they have the same intent, it's just that your IPOB lack the means at the moment to employ violence while the Fulani terrorists do. They are all birds of the same feather
