Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi is still finding it hard to understand why Turkish referee Cüneyt Çak?r, who officiated Nigeria vs Argentina refused to award them a penalty following a handball by Argentine defender Marcos Rojo in the box last night.



Speaking at a press conference with coach Gernot Rohr, the former Chelsea star said after the game the whole team watched the clip and they confirmed it was a clear handball and penalty should have been given by the referee.

If a team is good it is good not minding the partiality of the referee.

WAS IT THE REFEREE THAT STOP IGHALO AND IHEANACHO FROM TAKING THEIR CHANCES TO SCORE WHEN THEY HAD A GOLDEN CHANCE TO DRIBBLE THE GOAL KEEPER OR DEFENDER TO STRUCK IN THE BALL?

Our players were not CONFIDENT OF THEMSELVES and they lack experience.

The eagles were not properly co-ordinated to score goals and the coach Rohr failed to closed out our defence towards the delicate end of the match.

An experience coach should have quickly read the match and bring in more experience defender to secure the defence but coach Rohr was standing watching till the team took in the second goal that closed out the dream towards Russia 2018.

MIKEL FORGET REFEREE our players namely IGHALO, IHEANACHO, ETEBO were not good and they were equally inexperience to play at the world cup.

Thank God, this is the last world cup of IGHALO, IHEANACHO, ETEBO world cup, they will surely be phased out of the national team ahead of subsequent competition.


GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUBBISH!

Nigeria factor is another cause of our failure in international tournament as selection into the national team is based on political influences.

The Nigeria press is another cause of the problem in the national team as journalists in newspapers houses or pressmen are paid by this NOT SO SKILLED BOYS to write good report about them so that they gain relevance in the mindset of Nigerians.

The Nigeria press writers publish undeserved ratings for this players glorifying them in areas that they are exceptionally a flaws.

Funding for sportsmen and women in Nigeria is also a problem in Nigeria as the government believe so much in READY MADE.

We do not encourage sports especially football at the local level as our politicians still believe in TREASURY LOOTING.

How many well funded football academy do we have in Nigeria that is well placed to produced talented players for future tournament. The answer is none.

Most of this boys playing abroad do not understand themselves on the pitch as they are recruited in a fire brigade style to come and play international tournament.

Some of this boys fly into Nigeria a day before a football match.


OUR POLITICIANS IN THE SPORTS BOARD ROOM MANAGING SPORTS AND DEVELOPING SPORTS POLICIES IN NIGERIA HAS TO CHANGE THEIR MENTALITY AS THEY HAVE A BIG WORK TO DO!

The solution is for the federal and state government to invest in developing LOCAL TALENTS within our LOCAL LEAGUES so that we have a well co-ordinated players that understand themselves during football matches.
