I watched the documentary, Bugatti wasn't necessarily a car to be marketed but to break the speed time record. A lot of engineering was really put into it that after completion and test driving, the regular tires bursted out due to the speed of the car, so they had to go back and get Airplane tired with a lot of work on of as well to withstand the pressure of the speed of the car. Is like only one tire cost about $27,000 dollars.

The car caught the attention of money bags world wide so Volkswagen had to put it on the market but here how the loss came about, Bugatti held the world fastest car for about 2 years or so while they sold for about 6-8 million dollars but on the third year or so, McLaren came out their low budget but faster than Bugatti car, this knocked Bugatti price down.

But Buggati is still respected and sought after. I love that car for it's bug look and not really the speed. It runs faster than a planes/jets but only the bombardier jet has ever out run it.

People don't get it here. 2 million dollars is not Naira! And very few people can shell out that amount for a car even if they ate billionaires...just look around you!

They knew the price would be outrageous if it goes above 2M. What they did was have the set of class that can shell out 2M have a feel of the car. More like a bait and big gamble at the same time. Sounds like it wasn't too bad of a gamble in the end. Smart moves.
yes, only the very few around the world will buy a car above 2m dollars.

It is called synergy in business, use a product that is not giving you profit to sell what will give you profit that still covers the loss of the first product.

It's obvious that your thinking is shallow and your comprehension of things is myopic.. except you change ur thinking u won't go far in life.. you can never put a cap on the height any man can get to or what they can achieve in life.. the only obstacle is you and your thought pattern.

VW should have adopted a build-to-order type of production approach after the so-called Moneybags became interested in it since the car primary concept was based on speed. Build -to-order would have been done solely for the owner(those who request for it)and would ensure that a "recoup" price is placed on it. This concept gives the impression that Buggatti was just made in a mass production way and sold to the elites at a base price when luxury cars like Rolls Royces used to be built to specification, thereby making it price vary from user-to-user. Never knew VW was a charity organization based on this news. After suffering that emission issue(?), that i think made their CEO resign(not sure), and several recalls made, now this?. Their Shareholders must be really proud of the management team!

It obvious that the marketing strategy had no effect on most Nigerians. The plan is to introduce a halo car/technological demonstrator to show how advanced VW technology is. Some of those advancements will make it into some cars in the VW group. Thus drawing people's attention to their cars through the association of technology from their halo cars like the Veyron! To cut along story short it's advertising. That's why these cars have a limited run eg 500 cars

How would they recoup from other brands? Or rather on their other brands? You seem to understand their business model so, it would be nice if you shed more light on that.

Your last Paragraph is false, it is a fast car but to say an engine that runs on cylinders and strokes runs faster than a jet engine means you do not know the principle on which these engines run...it is engineering-ly impossible for that to happen.
