Osun '18: PDP Screening Committee Successfully Screens, Clears 11 Aspirants To Contest Party Ticket

Exactly eleven governorship aspirants under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun state have been declared qualified by the party's screening committee to jostle for it's ticket ahead of the September 22 election in the state.

The aspirants were successfully screened and cleared by the Osun PDP 2018 Governorship Screening Committee in Abuja.

To this end, the aspirants are formally qualified to aspire for the party's ticket of which the lucky one would contest the next governor of the state on the platform of the major opposition party, the PDP.

According to a document obtained by Amiloaded on Wednesday, the successful aspirants include Prof. Adeolu Durotoye, Rt Hon Rafiu Adejare Bello, Akogun Dr. Lere Oyewumi, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade, Senator Ademola Adeleke and Barr N O Oke (SAN).

Others are Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, Senator Kola Ogunwale, Dr. Ayoade Adewopo, Senator Akinlabi Olasunkanmi and Engineer Ezekiel Olajide Adeniji.

Akogun Dr. Lere Oyewumi, the tested trusted and the credible man for the seat.

Has Aregbe done enough for the people of Osun to still trust APC?

The Dancing Senator looks good to clinch it and the governorship election too.

I remembered what he did to APC during the senatorial election....The Adeleke family are a force in Osun State.

Waste of valuable manpower and resources. Osun is APC just as Nigeria is for Baba Buhari.

Politicians cannot stop to waste money. So all these people want to win in Ogbeni, Aregbesola's state? Well, we welcome 'proliferation' of money

PDP kind of look strong in Osun right now. The death of Serubawon really dealt a big blow to APC has it wasn't well managed. We'd soon see sha.

One thing we can all agree to is that Aregbesola has raised the bar of governance in Osun. He has done a lot in terms of infrastructure in the transport sector, Education sector, a bit in commerce and Agriculture, a bit in spot. So what Osun needs now is someone who is more of a professional in politics than a full time politician, who can build on the foundations already laid and develop the human capital and also attract investment most especially in Agric and Manufacturing. He should also try to transform the technical education system, as investors would only want to invest when they are sure there is a pool of skilled labour in the state.

To me he is the best of them all, but he may not have the needed money to take on the dancing buffoon.

I always believe what happened to PDP in the past was good for the party. it caused a total overhauling of the party and exit of bad eggs. PDP is coming back better and stronger.

Among the lot, Former Minister Of Youth Development, Senator Akinlabi Olasunkanmi is the most qualified for this post. Educationally, Philantropy and business acumen, he stands way above the lot. A former banker for that matter. His CV is intimidating as an alumni of HowrdUniversity, Columbia University and Columbia Business School. I believe he can deliver on the job

Just the right man that Osun State deserves to push it ahead in the 21st century Nigeria

Fatai Akinbade has the highest political value among them, Adejare Bello has the least lipsrsealed

Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi is the choice to enhance good governance. Next to him is Prof. Durotoye. The others are too well known for anyone to doubt their unsuitability for the arduous task ahead of governing Osun State. Given the present condition of Osun State it should require the skills of someone in the mould of Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi who, from seemingly nothing, started the Mutual Benefit Group and nurtured it to greatness leaving a legacy of excellence in the process!
