Hellooo Everyone. Please I need your advice.

I want to apply for a visitor visa to visit family/ friends and to look at Universities (apply to them too) in Canada. The main aim is to further my Education (I have a MSc degree from UK).

My Parents are sponsoring the trip. My Mom and I are submitting an application together; do I still need to submit my bank statement?

Also, is it advisable to include that I will be visiting universities during the trip in my SOP?
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by gg4real: 12:58pm On Jun 28, 2018
You can certainly apply for a student visa from here and your mum can accompany you being your sponsor. Since you have a masters degree, why not apply for a Phd program, I think with this you stand a chance.

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by gg4real: 2:01pm On Jun 28, 2018
You should have wait for your passport to return before buying ticket. Anyways it takes 8-10 days for passport return and for you to know your visa has been stamped, check your online status, if you find approved, it means it has been stamped.

Good day everyone. Sorry this might not be the right thread for this but I need answers.

I recently applied for visiting visas for my parents in the Supervisa category (they are now grand parents). I just got this email below from the immigration office:

"Supervisa Medical Insurance: Proof of medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company, valid for a minimum period of one year from the date of entry, provides a minimum of $100,000 coverage; is valid for each entry to Canada and available for review by an examining officer".
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by gg4real: 5:34pm On Jun 29, 2018

hi Yinka, i am not sure i understand this response but IRCC does not have a dropbox option. this is only done by the US and if you visa expired within the last 12 months. a US visa will NOT grant you entry into Canada, only US alien card holders with an ETA or US passport holders.

for the Canadian applicant, you have to fill forms for everyone but in one application. however, your US citizen dependent does not need a visa to enter canada for 180 days but has to be in your application.

Yinka was actually making a valid point about CAN+, but it does not apply to every applicant that has a VALID US visa or have traveled to canada in the last 10years. When applications are submitted it's the Visa Office that determines which applicants qualify for the CAN+ program.

To answer you question, see the eligibility requirement for the SuperVisa

have medical insurance from a CANADIAN insurance company that is:
valid for at least one year from the date of entry
at least $100,000 for minimum coverage
have proof that the medical insurance has been paid (quotes aren’t accepted)

I saw it on the board, read it and asked questions about it when we went to give biometrics for renewal (online route). What I was made to understand is that it works for the categories as stated, that it doesn't require submission of bank statements if you go the paper route. The word DROPBOX is what I can't clearly understand, but this is for valid US visa holders or previous Canada Visitors in the past 10 years, it seems to only exclude bank statements but other things have to follow I think (I didn't ask this much, their emphasis however was on the bank statement exclusion part). Would have been very good if @the bolded is expatiated on! I mean not EVERY applicant in the category?

Dear friends, kindly let me know how to request for GCMS.

I'm well appreciative of your help.

This is all you need to know about the GCMS notes, my advice is that you can use any of these two services online to request getgcms.com or visafile.info

How to apply GCMS / ATIP notes.
Only a person who is in Canada can request the notes. Get your sponsor to request on PA'S behalf!

If principal applicant is in Canada, he/she can request for himself and apply for free under Privacy Act.

If sponsor is requesting it on behalf of Principal applicant, you need consent form from PA and $5 fee. You can receive consent form from spouse via email and upload it. Apply under Access to Information Act.

It takes about 30 days to receive by email. It is a ~30 pages document (can be more than 30 pages)

Consent form:

Section A - Principal Applicant details
Section B - Sponsor's details
Section C - Sponsor's details

You have to clearly detail your intent of traveling and also the reason why you have to visit the school physically before you apply, since this can be done online.

I don't know the full details of your circumstance and how old you are. But if you work, it's always good to add your own financial details, so the VO will full understand your present financial circumstance. Best of luck.

Thanks so much boss. Your write up and link was so helpful.

Must the medical insurance be obtained from Canada? Can it be gotten from Nigeria?

APPPRRROOOOVVVVED!!!

Getting a Visa, really have to be with how sincere you are with your application.

Applied first, it was denied after 65 days with reasons ranging from Purpose and Travel history.

I applied with the very same document, and it was approved.

Am wondering, what is wrong with the first guy? i offend you?

The second application took 12 days and i got a mail, i was damn sure it was approved!

Just keep shooting, but shoot with sincerity.

This fuss about having billion in your account, really , really doesn't work. The first application had 18million, The reapplication had 1 million ( i actually didn't check).

I wonder what this people are really looking for, but trust me, be sincere.

Congratulations!!! It always pays to be truly about your present circumstance. They've given you the opportunity to prove yourself, so do it. Congrats once more.

I'm on the same page with you. I also wish to travel to Canada. I visited the deputy high commission to Canada's office last week to enquire about travelling to Canada as a tourist. I was asked some few questions and then told what I require. I was told to book a hotel in Canada, bring the evidence of booking, get my international passport and 2 passport photo, bank statement of sponsor and then print visa application on their website. After gathering those documents, I was asked to take them to visa application Centre. Pay 33k visa application fee and one other 19k. But I myself still needs more information from nairalanders

You are in the right place, just go back this thread and you get all the information you need. best of luck

Well, the Visa office are the ones that would determine which application should qualify for the CAN+ program. The application has to SHOW that it is eligible and who determines this(eligibility)? The visa office. Please see link below:

Most times online bookings do not give your option of confirming and saving your itinerary without paying for the flight in full. A travel agents can help you do that through their GDS booking platform. You can send me a PM or hello@travelwahala.com to help you generate one.
thanks I Already sent a PM to you
