Fuel tanker explodes, flame engulfs vehicles in Lagos

A fuel tanker has exploded along the Otedola Bridge en-route Berger in Lagos with the blaze engulfing several other vehicles.

The tanker was heading into Lagos towards Alausa when the crash occurred, causing panic and fear.

The incident has led all mode of transportation along the road to be at a standstill as emergency officials at the scene fighting the blaze and attending to affected victims in order to prevent further fire incidents in the area.

As at time of this report, no casualty had been reported by the authorities.

Tankers should be restricted to movement from midnight to 6am and should undergo regular annual inspection.

with remember wen a friend of mine, called me some hours ago not to pass through that route. I shouldn't even go near, cos the nearer I move the more I might Blow.

There are so many bad trucks,buses being use on Nigerian road and FRSC are not doing anything..they only preach don't drink and drive

How are we sure that this is not terrorism.

No country would have the resources to devote such to just one tanker. There might be route and time restrictions but not to the extent of what you stated.

Hundreds are dead. Check instagram. Many transport buses too. There was a hold up when it exploded. Many cars behind got burnt, few pple weee able to jump the culvert to the other side of the road.

The good thing is dt that bridge slopes up and down, so the fuel stopped at a particular point and couldn't flow further.
