Arsenal have wasted no time in moving on from Jack Wilshere ’s departure by closing in on a £26.3million deal for Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira .

Wilshere confirmed on Tuesday in an emotional Instagram post that he would be leaving the Gunners after 17 years after failing to receive assurances from new head coach Unai Emery over his role in the team. Prior to the Spaniard’s appointment, he had indicated he would sign a new deal.



However, Emery is keen to reshape Arsenal’s midfield without him and Torreira, currently at the World Cup with Uruguay, looks set to be at the heart of his new-look side after Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero claimed a transfer had been finalised.
“Torreira has left for €30m [£26.3m],” he told Italian television station TMW. “I bought him from Pescara when nobody believed in him. We took a gamble on him and we won, paying just £2.75m.”

I like the part where they did not dwell on the departure of Jack, typical English player, na quota e wan use command position for team.
Just look at the teams that came in for him, not even Everton gave him a glance.

All that "He's Arsenal through and through" does not change the fact that he's declined and not improved since breaking into the first team.

Xhaka would come good if Emery plays him as a CM not a DM as wenger used to do. He's one of the best passer out there.

Torriera is the signing Arsenal has been yearning to sign for over 8 years. He is intelligent and has excellent ball technique, which is buttressed by the fact that he takes the corner kicks and other set pieces for Uruguay. He is a good tackler with excellent timing and he is quite relentless and runs continuously. The most important skill I appreciate with Torriera is that he is quite disruptive and his sense of positioning enables him to intercept passes and close down opponents quickly. He also has a good short passing range.

Honestly, I did not pay too much attention to him during last season's Serie A campaign. I only watched him when Milan played against Sampdoria at the San Siro and I remember he played like a motor.
