A chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Akwa Ibom State, Senator Anietie Okon has opined that elections may not hold in 2019 due to the persistent killings across the country.

Okon said this while lamenting the bias handling of the crisis between farmers and herdsmen in Plateau and Benue States, a situation which has led to the spread of the killings in the country.

Addressing journalists in Uyo, the state capital, Okon also called for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari over his alleged failure to ensure the security of lives and property in the country.

He said, “The President should resign because he has failed in his primary responsibility which is ensuring security of the citizens. It is not possible for him to continue to give all manner of excuses. Now he has asked us to resort to prayers.

1, The Rights to be in full control of their internal Homeland Security,
2, Resources search for and spending for themselves including contributing uniformly to running FG. And
3, Having their Election independently in the individual State hands to control.
