I’ll be driving a rental through my insurance until the other party settles. The other party reimburses my insurance. And they want to settle quickly because rental car could be $50 per day or more.

The number on the car while leaning on it is called a temporary tag. It’s just a paper. That means he just purchased the car as at the time he took the picture. It’s just a paper number. The number on the other picture is a permanent tag.

Notice that the first plate number is like a paper tag, and not a plate. In Texas, you can get a temporary tag, which you can use when you newly bought a car, then within 30 days I believe, you need to get a permanent plate number. I guess that was this guy's case.
