Ancient Indian weapons Urumi Dancing whip sword Damascus steel were manufactured from ingots of wootz steel that were imported from India in the old days . From the 3rd century to the 17th century, steel ingots were being shipped to the Middle East from India. The original wootz was imported from India to Damascus, where Middle Eastern bladesmiths forged them into swords. As usual the original inventors ie indians did not get credit untill it was too late. 4 Likes

Xbee007: Lolzzzz u posted the pic of a Aghori sadhu Aghori sadhus don't strive for machoism , infact there is no word for it in the language. Aghori sadhus worship Shiva their teacher whose one of the avatars is half man half women. Ardhanarishwara is a composite androgynous form of the Shiva and his wife Parvati. Ardhanarishvara is depicted as half male and half female, split down the middle. Ardhanarishvara represents the synthesis of masculine and feminine energies of the universe (Purusha and Prakriti) and illustrates how Shakti, the female principle of God, is inseparable from (or the same as, according to some interpretations) Shiva, the male principle of God. The union of these principles is exalted as the root and womb of all creation. ( Note the deep thought process ) there is no masculine or feminine here , they exist in unison . So u see u have to understand the materialistic interpretation of the spiritual/religious analogue. Do u know according to modern science every male has varying degrees of feminine traits and every female has varying degrees of male traits. Aghoris sadhus are devotees of Shiva manifested as Bhairava, and monists who seek moksha (liberation ) from the cycle of reincarnation or saṃsāra. This freedom is a realization of the self's identity with the absolute. Because of this monistic doctrine, the Aghori sadhus maintain that all opposites are ultimately illusory. The purpose of embracing pollution and degradation through various customs is the realization of non-duality (advaita) through transcending social taboos, attaining what is essentially an altered state of consciousness and perceiving the illusory nature of all conventional categories. Sanatan dharma ( Hinduism ) is the only religion which allows all kinds of interpretation of God and the way to god. There is no hard and fast rule. If u don't believe in God and only karma that is good too. So u see they r not even remotely associated with machoism. For people with Abrahamic religious background all these r difficult to understand and therefore wrong interpretation r made. And frankly they don't want to , no reason for them . These practices will die out eventually or maybe not. Indic religions like Buddhism , Sikhism jainism etc don't have any problems understanding becz they r derived from the same thought process. 2 Likes |
