At least two persons were killed in a fatal accident which occurred yesterday in Imo state. The accident which was reportedly caused by a speeding driver saw mulitple vehicles collide with each other before knocking down a motorcyclist who was carrying a lady along the Onitsha-Owerri highway in Mgbidi, Oru West local government area of the state.

The man and his passenger were killed on the spot while others were seriously injured. The wounded victims were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The multiple accidents caused a huge traffic gridlock in the area before the crashed vehicles were removed.

These deaths could have been avoided if the drivers exercised a lil care. Instead, everyone drives as though the road belongs to them. Is it because you have a car that you must speed? Because you drive a car, so others cannot use the road?

When on public roads, drive defensively and give other road users room to share the road with you. Otherwise, if you routinely engage in reckless driving, accidents like this one will certainly be your portion at some point in the future.

RIP to those who've died because someone drove recklessly.
