As an RCCG member, I'm highly disappointed by this kind of letter. Churches should face salvation, envangelize and preach the Gospel. Meddling into politics is a no no and a calculated attempt to benefit from the rulling party unduly. The RCCG at the National level should sanction those who are involved in this type politicking at the expense of the Church's reputation.

The candidate should run as a privete citizen without any refrence to being a redeem member. The RCCG representation we have at the FG level has not been a good testimony. My take.

I am a member of RCCG but I condemn this letter totally. Such a letter is not necessary and only help in dividing us as a people along religious line. There is no wisdom in this .
The RCCG HQ should come out and dissociate itself from this absurdity and sanction those behind it.

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has thanked Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti, for choosing one their active members as the Deputy Governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party, PDP towards the Saturday 14 July 2018 Governorship election in Ekiti State.

The letter of appreciation was dated 2 July 2018/and signed by one Pastor Bayo Olugbemi on behalf of Victory Parish (My Fathers' House) of RCCG in Magodo Lagos.
The church noted that Deji Ogunsakin was not only a very active member, but a committed worker in the church.
The RCCG letter may have put a lie to the initial impression created by the Ekiti PDP that Mr. Ogunsakin was a practising Muslim

Though born a Muslim Mr. Ogunsakin got converted baptized into Christianity and has since been a member of the RCCG family.

The letter reads in part: "Following the selection of our member, Mr. Deji Ogunsakin, as the PDP Deputy Governorship candidate for Ekiti State by your Excellency, the entire members and Pastorate of the RCCG, Victory Chapel (My Father's House), Magodo Lagos appreciate the good gesture of the People's Governor, Dr. Peter Ayodele Fayose."

"You will recall the church prayed earnestly after Your Excellency consulted our parish about your desire to choose our member and your candid request for the Parish to do background checks on brother Deji Ogunsakin."

"It's also pertinent to correct the impression from some quarters in Ekiti that our brother, though born by Moslem parentage, is not a Moslem but a practicing Christian who gave his life to Christ and was duly baptized according to the doctrine of the Redeemed Christian Church and as laid down by our General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye."

"This clarification became necessary to safeguard the family of our brother, especially his wife who feels the family faith and religious association are being ridiculed because of politics. She consequently appealed to our church to put the records straight to the public that herself, husband, Mr. Deji Ogunsakin and children are not Moslems but Christians."

Meanwhile, the Chief Imam of Ekiti State, Sheik Jamiu Kewulere has urged some selected Muslim clerics to organise a special prayer for the success of Prof. Eleka and Deji Ogunsakin towards the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

A source who prefers anonymity said that the Chief Imam asked them to organise the special Islamic prayer for Deji Ogunsakin and forward the video coverage of the prayer to him separately.

R C C G member of the C A N can of worms is only interested in how much they will realise from Fayose for their statement of support. Imagine how Fayose initially falsely decleared that his governorship team will be Christian __ Muslim ticket to falsely bring the entire Muslim population of Ekiti state to vote for them but the ( ashiri titu ) the truth has emerged the man he branded as a Muslim is a member of RCCG, CAN can of worms which means if they win but God forbids all appointments from the least labourers to the highest permanent Secretary will all be Christians.
