Kemi Adeosun: Was ICAN Code of Professional Conduct Violated? by Nobody:
I am wondering if ICAN is aware of the professional misconduct associated with Ms. Adeosun's forgery or is she not a member of ICAN?

Am aware she qualified for ICAEW in 1994, but to practice and most importantly hold the highest office as Minister of Finance, she should have been certified by ICAN to hold such a high office in Nigeria as a Chartered Accountant.

For the avoidance of any doubts, the PROFESSIONAL CODE OF CONDUCT AND GUIDE FOR MEMBERS states as follows in Section 1.2.1

"1.2.1 Integrity

The principle of integrity imposes an obligation on all Chartered Accountants to be straightforward and honest in professional and business relationships. Integrity also implies fair dealing and truthfulness.

A Chartered Accountant should not be associated with reports, returns, communications or other information where they believe that the information:

(a) Contains a materially false or misleading statement:
(b) Contains statements or information furnished recklessly: or
(c) Omits or obscures information required to be included where such omission or obscurity would be misleading.

A member’s advice and work must be uncorrupted by self-interest and not be unduly influenced by the interests of other parties"

Unfotunately, it does. Please, see below extract from the ICAN PROFESSIONAL CODE OF CONDUCT AND GUIDE FOR MEMBERS

"Generally, a member of a profession owes certain duties to the public at large, including those who retain or employ him; to the profession itself and to all other members of that profession, even though such duties may at times be at variance with his own personal interests.

This Professional Code of Conduct serves as a guide to members of the Institute, and require strict observance as a condition for continuing membership."

Point is that as a chartered accountant a violation of the codes means a strict disciplinary action up and including stripping of membership

This is not about appointment to any office but being in right standing with ICAN. If the APC and FG want to sweep the forgery case under the already dirty carpet, that is up to them, but ICAN has integrity to maintain. This is my point!

What has ICAN got to do with ministry of finance?

I already updated my post and I quoted the false assertion you made that I have clarified.

Again, I maintain that the question is irrelevant which makes this topic itself irrelevant.

Minister of Finance has no business with ICAN, so stop asking ICAN related questions.

The one you should ask is that which you have shown no interest in. Which is the question that when is she going to defend the allegations or sue for libel. When is the government going to sack her if allegations are true and when is she going to be prosecuted for such allegations.

Leave ICAN out of the matter where they hold no relevance such as appointment of ministers of finance, but rather exercise their relevance among their own kind.

Has she brought any disrepute to the institution by her actions or inactions.

Which code has she violated? Has her employer reported her misconduct to the institution or you are bringing the issue up to ICAN.

Has NYSC prosecuted the issue beyond doubt?

What your interest and price if she is nailed by the Institute?

If found guilty of forgery, she has. The more reason why ICAN should be interested.

IF found guilty, meaning she is not yet guilty.

Let's both wait till she is guilty and charged for criminal offense first

Your questions is like asking what the Supreme Court is doing on killing Jos

... but you lot applauded Buhari for signing Presidential Order 6. That order means "Guilty until proven innocent"

Wetin be my own, order 6 is a back door dictatorship and direct take over of legislative and judicial duty by the executive.
A disrespect to the democratic principle of separation of power.

The power to give interim, temporary or permanent forfeiture of assets belongs to the court anything contrary to that is illegal and closely related to stealing
